Sweet Home Alabama
Sweet Home AlabamaQuote: Sweet Home Alabama is a 2002 American romantic comedy film directed by Andy Tennant and stars Reese Witherspoon, Josh Lucas, and Patrick Dempsey. The film was released on September 27, 2002. Caught it on Fox tonight... It wasn't that bad. Typical, predictable romantic comedy, but good. Reese is her usual, hot-self. B-

Reese Witherspoon is one of the things I liked in this film. I also like the story, although I felt it was more romance then comedy, and it didn't really fuse the two together well like My Best Friends Wedding, or Runaway Bride. Its still a "cute" movie and showcases a terrific Witherspoon and a really hot Lucas.(I could do without the chest hair though )

Reese Witherspoon is up to her regular tricks, this is pretty much her in-stride movie. Decent romcom.

As did I. Although I knew she would end up with Josh Lucas' character.
Anyway, this movie is one of my favorite romantic comedies. Predictable, but still had a few good laughs. I liked it a lot . B+

It was a very nice romantic comedy. Not one of the best, but there are far worse out there. Reese Witherspoon pretty much made the movie. There were some funny parts, but I think the movie missed out on its potential comedic value. I guess the filmmakers really wanted this to be clearly a romantic movie rather than a comedy. Funnily enough, I found myself rooting for both male leads. Sometimes for the one, sometimes for the other. I'm glad that Patrick Dempsey's character wasn't portrayed as a mean guy (as it often is the case in movies like this one) so you have no idea why the female lead is together with him in first place. Predictable, but cute movie.

This was terrible. I saw no reason to pick Lucas over Dempsey.
I'm always hearing what a shrewd business woman Witherspoon is. But she hasn't made a great movie since election. Hasn't even made a kinda almost moderately decent in the right mood one since Legally Blonde.

Ah, how naive.
I guess I just never bought the relationship, or her idea to run away from her smashingly successful career to live down there in Hickville, USA. Seemed like plot mechanics to me, not love. Silly "home is where the heart is" bullshit, in other words.

A very entertaining rom-com with sympathic actors lead by really cute Reese. Josh Lucas is pretty good to. B+
