Don't Say a Word is a 2001 psychological thriller film starring Michael Douglas, Sean Bean and Brittany Murphy based on the novel of the same title by Andrew Klavan. Don't Say a Word was directed by Gary Fleder and written by Anthony Peckham and Patrick Smith Kelly.

Don't Say a Word is another great thriller from Gary Fleder (Kiss the Girls, Runaway Jury, etc.). I'm surprised that I never caught this one a while ago. Great performances from Michael Douglas and Brittany Murphy. Sean Bean played his usual "get-me-what-I-want-while-I-sit-around-and-wait" role, but he was decent in this film. The story was intriguing, and the film does a great job of keeping you on your seat until the end. It's somewhat flawed, but it's very enjoyable. B+

I haven't seen this in about two years. I did see it when it was released, and I saw it again about two years ago. I really enjoed both viewings....enough for it to get into my top 100, anyway. A great thriller with great performances. I highly reccommend it to anyone who needs a good "edge of your seat" thriller. A.

One of teh worst films I have ever seen in my life. About as generic as they get.

Very decent thriller, but certainly also very forgettable. Brittany Murphy probably delivers what is the best performance in her (not so impressive) career and Michael Douglas is good as well. Sean Bean is his usual baddie (he has played this role to death and he has been better at that before as well) and Famke Jannsen is pretty much wasted. The suspense is pretty good and the "twist" with the numbers (or were those words? I don't remember) that Brittany Murphy's character wirtes was neat. In the end, generic, but worthwhile thrilling entertainment.
