I think Federer will win in straights or in 4. Federer had the same problem with Nadal last year at the same time. I don't see how tomorrow is any different, other than being a year later.

Congrats to Venus. Just goes to show how open women's tennis is. All three final matches in the three majors this year have had six different women in them, with of course three different winners. Pretty hard to call one player the best female tennis player. Henin obviously is the best candidate, but she has her flaws.

Federer will destroy Nadal. Nadal is tired, and Federer is playing amazing as usual.

*hopes that by saying this statement, Federer will actually lose*

If does indeed somehow manage to do the impossible tommorrow, I think it will skyrocket the Federer/Nadal rivarly into one of the best of ALL TIME. Yes. That fast.

And also probably get rid of all "best tennis player ever" talk about Federer, since he isn't American.

Even if Federer loses, he still I think is on pace to break Sampras I think. He'll still be considered the best ever.

Nah, he isn't American, so certainly not on any programs I would see. They were already asking themselves on ESPN if he could be considered the best of all time if he never won the french, when they conveniently forget that they always bring up Samprass in that conversation, despite never winning the french (or even coming as close as Federer has to winning the french).

It kind of makes me sad, that in an individual sport like Tennis, a lot of people care so much about whether a tennis player is from their country or not. I like the players who I find the most entertaining. Goran Ivanesavic is my favorite tennis player of all time. Pete Sampras was more boring than a box of rocks. Federer isn't that much more exciting, but he has more Charisma and I root for him a lot because I want to see him overtake Sampras.

That Roddick lose was just insane, I mean the way both were playing.

I don;t even like Roddick and I feel bad, that was a hard loss, and a Roddick vs Federer semi would have been more interesting, I probably woudl have watched it tape delay and all. I didn't bother watching either of hte men's semi's with the tape delay.

Yeah, if it were Federer/Roddick I would have woken up and watched the match on TV, if it was carried on TSN or RDS, or at the very least followed it on the wimbledon scoreboard. With Gasquet, I just assumed that it'd be a routine victory for Federer who was facing a little version of himself in Gasquet. Not super fantastic from Federer, but enough to get to his 9th straight slam final - wow.

Another Federer/Nadal final, I wouldn't be surprised to see Nadal take the third set off Federer, but one set is all I think Nadal takes, Federer wins his 5th the same year Venus wins her 4th.

His knee looks fine to me.

Personally I think it was all a ruse to steal Federer's momentum!!! from that... 1 game he won in the first 5.

Still, Nadal pushed Federer the most he's been pushed. Wouldn't be surprised if Nadal won Wimbeldon next year.

I think Nadal has a better shot at winning the US Open or Australian.

Federer should go for Stefi Graf's record.

23 slams! If he wins all but the french it's only 4 years away from happening!

Incredible final, probably the best I've seen live on TV.

Being only 21, Nadal will get to 10 grand slams too, as long as he doesn't suffer serious injury. Something like 7 French, 2 Wimbledons, 1 each for Australia and U.S.

Wow. That was great tennis. Nadal played unbelievable for a lot of the match, I really thought he was going to take it in the 5th. Those 4 break points he had early in the fifth might linger for a couple days.

I feel bad for the guys ranked 3-10, I mean the cosistent level of amazing play we saw today, I don;t see any of them being able to do that.

Sure maybe for a set, maybe for a match, but the way nadal and Federer pay, and keep doing it. This match had soem poitns and rallies, that were just insane.

I loved the Tiger commericial, he and Federer have become friends in recent years, it was hysterical. I just read a good article about Federer in means Vogue or something like that.

The issue with Nadal is his play at the US Open. He went out in the 3rd round in US Open in 2005, and in quarterfinals in 2006.

He just doesn't seem as dominant at the US Open.

He's still young, I mean yes he's been amazing on clay, but last year's final at WImbledon was a shock to most people, this year more was expected of him. But most clay court guys don't play on grass at all, and only a bit on hard court, Guga was the exception.

Quarterfinals last year wasn't a bad showing, clearly after toady I think we can all admit he's really growing as a plyer on surfaces beyond clay. I think in the years to come he could really challenge on the hard surfaces as well.

I also hope he's not injured, tape near the knee is never good.

US Open Main Draw is out.

Highlights include:
- Henin, S. Williams, V. Williams, Jankovic, Ivanovic all in the top half
- A third straight Henin v. Serena QF in a major.
- Sharapova v Vaidisova QF in the bottom half
- Federer v. Roddick QF
- Nadal should make it to SF
- Djokovic faces Ancic, Stepanek and Hewitt all before QF.

Well...at least there should be some good tennis - if the seeds hold.

Roddick's rank is going to drop a lot, assuming he'll lose for the 14th time to Federer. He has finalist points to defend here. This summer hardcourt season hasn't been so kind to Andy.

First top 10 player is out on the Womens side:

Vakulenko def Hantuchova [9] 6-4 3-6 6-1

But I don't think people expected Daniela to do particularly well this tournament anyways.

I don't expect her to do particularly well in any tournament.

Too true.

Though I am sad that with her ouster we won't get to see her cry in between points during a match she let slip away.
