Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Sergio got DQ'd for signing an incorrect score card.
Hasn't been a good summer for him.

Hasn't been a good summer for him. The thing I don't understand is why Weekley wasn't DQ'd as well. He wrote up the score wrong, Sergio signed it without checking. I think the rule is ridiculous, but if they use it, both should be gone

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
I just thought Sergio had a 4 on his score card for number 17, when he made 5. Sergio signed his card for a 73, when it was a 74.
I haven't heard of Boo's invovlement, but think it would be ridiculous if he had to keep track of the other guys score.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
That's PGA rules AgentX. Player's switch scorecards and keep each others scores. It's the player's responsibility to make sure his scorecard was correctly done at the end of the day. If you don't switch scorecards at the beginning you get DQ'd.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Wow, you learn something new every day. Thanks.
Yes, DQ'ing both guys would be what I would do if that rule had to be involved.
Here are the players under par:
1 Tiger Woods -7 2 Stephen Ames -4 3 Woody Austin -3 4 John Senden -2 5 Ernie Els -1
Hard to see Tiger losing this one.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Ames might have a super round and shoot 63, so Tiger will need to get to 11 under to tie. just incase Ames does it.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
HAHAHA. If anything, Ames is more likely to shoot a 77 than a 63. Tiger just needs probably 1-under to guarantee a win. Nobody is gonna shoot 5-6-under that really has a shot at winning.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
The last time Ames played with Woods it was against him in match play. Woods won 9 and 8.
The last 2 people to be paired with Woods on the final day of a tournament both shot over par.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Besides Tiger, the only person from the top 10 I could see shooting a 65 or better is Ernie. He is putting pretty well, but he needs to keep the occasional big numbers away like the double today and the triple at British's third round.

Tiger does have a lock on this tourney guys. The rest of the field will fold like a set of cheap lawn chairs on the Titanic.

I hope Austin wins. He desperately needs the money to buy decent clothes.

and so it begins...
On number 1 Tiger's tee shot is straight down the fairway. Ames shot is in the trees somewhere.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
After two holes Tiger is +1 (-6) Ames +2 (-2) . . After 3 holes Woody Austin is in second place now at -4 for the tourney. Els tied for third with Ames at -2.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Things are tightening up a little. Tiger's driver is not in sync today, may want to use more 2-irons.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
A birdie by Tiger, a short miss by Ernie, crucial turn of events.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Unbelievable shot displays by Ernie so far, even if he couldn't make up the deficit at the end.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Tiger bogeyed the 9th hole and Ernie has a birdie attempt at the 11th. Ernie could be only 2 shots back if he makes it.
edit
and he missed it.

Re: 89th PGA Championship - Southern Hills
Two bad misses by Els, this will haunt him. He would be tied for the lead now. Tiger's only playing for keeps, he is vulnerable today.
