I'll say it again. It's only April. But wow. The funny thing about tonight's game is the Red Sox were once down 4-2. They then went on to score 9 unanswered runs. And six pitchers used in the game by the Yankees? They're bullpen will be shot by the end of May if this keeps up. The Yankees better pray that either Mussina, Wang and Pavano come back and are brilliant, or Clemens decides to leave Houston for no apparent reason and join this team, because right now they are simply atrocious.

Good win by the BoSox tonight. It just goes to show, that no matter how much money you throw at a bullpen, they still have to perform. And who did the Orioles spend the money on? Chad Bradford? Scott Williamson? They should've just thrown the money out of a window.

And man I bet the Yankees are praying it rains all through the weekend. And they would just be facing the Sox 3-5 pitchers. They just can't buy a win right now. Literally. It's only April, but christ, their entire pitching staff (Starting five and the bullpen) is just shot to hell.

sorry but wtf are you talking about!!! Chad Bradford is worth his $ based on last year and this part year, so far.

What's your point?

He proved himself, he'll be successful.

I never said he wasn't going to win...

Chad Bradford isn't worth anything if you don't have the starting pitching to get to him. The Orioles are off to a good start, but that won't last throughout the entire year.

Good to see the BoSox clean up and grab the final game this weekend against the Yanks. It was also good to see Manny finally hit another home run, and have Papelbon shut the door once again. 5-1 against New York so far this year. Hopefully it'll keep up the next time they meet.

Big win tonight for the Red Sox. After blowing a game like they did last night, they could've easily have fallen into a spiral and lost a couple in a row. But once again, Josh Beckett was big and picks up his 6th win. He is unstoppable right now and is 6/6. He is two away from tying the Red Sox record accomplished by Babe Ruth. It was also good to see Varitek start hitting the ball.

And congrats to Hideki Okajima for being AL Rookie of the Month. Hopefully he can keep it up.

And christ, the Yankees just can't keep a pitcher healthy. Hughes is in the middle of a no-hitter and gets injured and is now gone 4-6 weeks? Wang better keep being the pitcher he was last year, and Mussina better start pitching like a 28 year old instead of 38 year old.

I can't wait to see how a 45 year old pitcher, pitches in the American League. That should be a lot of fun to watch. :funny:

He's our #4, a knuckle-baller and 3-3 this year.

Roger would be your #2 and was 7-6 last year and the ace of the Astros. As you know, the Astros are in the NL. A 7-6 record in the NL is not good. Now he has to face DH hitters and all around better lineups. Unless he pitches like he did at 40-41 (Five years ago) then the Yankees are paying $28 million for a very good #5 pitcher.

Well done!

Didn't he also have like a 2.1 era last year?

Wins and losses can be deceiving when you get no run support at all.

But, on the other hand, I fully expect his ERA to jump at least 1 point going back to the American League.

Exactly. And to add onto that, wins and loss totals can also be very deciving when your tired bullpen has to pitch at least three innings in your wake.

Stop pointing to the 7-6 record. That was a bs record on a team with zero offense.

just saw his news story, nice perk, on some road trips, as he did in Houston, won't go with the team on road trips.

guess his old bones can't take the trip but anyway, nice way to support the team and your teammates.

Clemens is notorious for his trading skills. I heard that this one time he was able to trade a rookie Mark Prior baseball card for a signed Mickey Mantle. Insane.

This is insane contract. Basically they rented a guy for 25 starts with 6 innings each. The bullpen still won't get rest when he starts. This will only translate to 4-5 more wins at best.
