EDIT - Nevermind never realized No. 2 Wisconsin was eliminated already. Still high seed domination so far. I'm betting on UNLV winning this game though.
It's never happened. Closest it ever came to happening was 1993, I think.
East: #1 UNC v. #2 Cincinnati
Midwest: #1 Indiana v. #2 Kansas
Southeast: #1 Kentucky v. #3 Florida St.
West: #1 Michigan v. #7 Temple
Anyone know of a better year?

I think that's the closest year, with 3 No. 1s and 1 No. 2 advancing to the Final Four. The two other occasions where 3 No. 1s advanced, the opponents in the Elite 8 had lower seeds.

Maybe UNC will be the first #1 to not advance? Not good for me at all because I have them winning in at least one of my brackets...

Three teams from Pac-10 in the Final Four? I still don't know how USC could be so good now after losing by 30+ to Oregon two weeks ago and looking completely overwhelmed by an athletic team with tremendous quickness.

Carbon copy of pretty much every game that involves a No. 1 seed; down big early, comes back, and UNC will probably win by 1-3 points too.

Christ, most top seeded tournament ever. 1 vs 2, 1 vs 2, 1 vs 2, and 1 vs 3.

Not surprising considering all the freshman talent forced into school via the new NBA rules.

So, OSU gets everything together against Memphis. Ah well, good for my bracket anyways (but what's the chance of all three other #1 seeds losing, like in my Facebook final four? )

Lewis is a pretty great player. Been coming up big all tournament, leading OSU to this.

Well one is looking likely..hopefully Florida loses as well. UNC should be set against Georgetown, especially if Georgetown plays like they did yesterday.
And...GO OSU.

UCLA winning this tournament would suk. They're definitley the villains this year, I haven't really talked to anyone who's actually cheering for them. Unfortunatley they've looked the most solid so far.

Honestly?
I love UCLA, almost as much as I love Oregon this year. Fun teams. And, SIU deserved to win the Kansas game, so serves them right! From the five or so games I watch during the season, I always have some new favorites. Last year, I loved watching LSU and Tennessee.
I actually like most of the teams in the elite eight, now. I hate Memphis (despite my comment earlier, the bulk of my family lives in Ohio, I grew up rooting for OSU and UMD in college sports, etc), Kansas, and Florida. I'm cool with the other five (though, being a DC-er, this better not be UNC's year).

If not for Texas' flop, I could've a perfect bracket from Elite 8 on. I do expect both Florida and UNC to advance tomorrow, duplicating 1993 (3 No. 1 and 1 No. 2); however, I'm pulling really hard for a UCLA/OSU final. I know that'd probably mean a game where the team gets to 50 points first wins, but it'd really suck if either UNC wins the second one in three years or Florida replacing us to become the last team to win back-to-back.

In terms of my bracket, it would be nice to have UNC vs. UCLA with UNC winning. But I never thought OSU would make it to the final 4...A part of me wants them to lose next week to spare a repeat of January. I don't think I could handle another loss to Florida in the championship.

Bill Self Sucks
Did he not watch the UCLA-California games? Cal beat the crap out of them in the first half in all three games. They did it by rotating back and forth going inside and outside, UCLA couldn't overplay either facet. In the second half, California got away from it and went just shooting outside for the most part and being very predictable. The ended up blowing the first two games and almost lost the third.
In the first half, I thought Kansas needed to shoot more 3 pointers and stop driving the lane every trip (it wasn't working). I told my wife they are going to lose if they continue to drive the lane because UCLA is cutting off the shooting and passing angles. I think if they had made some open 15 footers and some three pointers or just made some attempts, then the lane would have opened up again. However, KU was so predictable that UCLA could just continue to camp out under the basket. Kansas never ran any double screens or anything resembling an offense in the second half. Isn't the defintion of insanity/stupidity continually doing the same thing and expecting a different result?
For instance, in this year's Rose Bowl USC coach Pete Carroll did not run the ball the entire second half. The score was 3-3 at the half and Carroll realized the running game was not working against Michigan's defense so he junked it and passed the entire second half. USC won 32-18.
Quote: One drive into the third quarter of the 93rd Rose Bowl, Michigan had made it clear to USC that it would not be able to move the ball on the ground. The Wolverines had limited the Trojans to 19 yards on 15 carries.
Big mistake. Once USC abandoned the run, Michigan never had a chance.
"We're talking on the headsets," offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin said of his conversation with quarterbacks coach Steve Sarkisian. "We said, 'We're not running the ball another play.'"

I mean it was like watching a football team pass over the middle into double coverage pass after pass and see it either incomplete or intercepted, never bothering to run, or throw it to another section of the defense.
This is the fourth team that Bill Self has gotten to the Elite Eight and I think he had the better team 3 of the 4 times and he still hasn't gotten to the Final Four. There is something lacking in his preparing teams for the tournament, because he has the talent. At least in the other Elite Eight games they were close and you could argue he was just unlucky, but this game although closer than the final score was never really close or in doubt.
I am not stating he should be fired, or that Kansas is doomed, but his tournament performance is starting to make me wonder if he will ever get over the hump. I mean I heard KU fans for a decade state Roy would win a NC and he never did, at least not with KU ;-(.
I have no idea which team to root for now. I like the way Georgetown plays, but I think it might be UNC. OSU just seems to get stronger and stronger as the tourney continues and they might be the best team by next weekend, if they aren't now. I know they should have lost by now, but they haven't.
