 Formula 1 - 2007 Season
Melbourne is only 7 weeks away and the car launches are already beginning so now is as good a time as any to start a thread.
Here are the new cars so far.
Toyota
Ferrari
McLaren
BMW-Sauber
The Mclaren is beautiful but beauty doesn't normally mean fast (The Black Arrows from 1998 springs to mind). Still its been fast in testing so who knows. Renault aren't looking in top form thus far but they have time and Ferrari are as usual impossible to judge.
Still at least Kimi can continue to enjoy the odd drink at Ferrari. Word is Ron Dennis has banned the stuff for his drivers. Not that Alonso ever looked like the type who would go for a Pint.

Good call on a new thread GK!
Well its still way to early to tell
I'll have to swallow my pride and support Ferrari because of Kimi going there. I am warming to them a little I have to say. I will still supoort Mclaren in the form of Hamilton. Just hope its a close season.
My main concern is that with the extra practice time on Friday - the Sunday races may be more boring due to all the cars being dialled up perfectly. We'll know in Melbourne.
As for the cars - the Mclaren does look good. So too the BMW. The Ferrari is much better now that its gone back to all red rather than the white that blemished it recently.
As for the circuits, Spa is back this year. But Imola is gone. The German GP's have been merged into one - with Nurburgring being the place to be in 07 (Hockenheim in 08).

Indeed. There just isn't something quite right about a Ferrari that isn't all Red. The ugly 1992 model springs to mind for one.

First time in a long time we'll be without Hockenhiem.
WOW never knew that Suzuka lost its slot to Mount Fuji.

Was that the one with the black front and rear wings?

Ah yes - i actually forgot that. What a travesty.
There were rumours that Suzuka would become the Pacific GP and slot in after Melbourne or after Bahrain. But that doesnt look like happening.
Look at the gaps between Melb and Malaysia and then worse - the gap between Bahrain and Spain! 1 month!!!

Ya. And it had a big white bar running thru the engine cover as well.

Ya losing Susuka is a blow. Still on the upside Fuji did host the 1976 title decider in a deluge of rain so i'll be hopeful for a repeat (well not as bad of course)
Those gaps are a bummer but I suppose there trying to give some of the F1 personnel a few days off. The truckies for one must have a nightmare job.

Fuji 76 was quite the race. James Hunt winning the championship and Nikki withdrawing.
The gap between Bahrain and Spain is because of the absence of Imola which at one stage was likely to be slotted back in. Cant explain the 3 weeks between Oz and Malay though.

Well it certainly has a different look about it.

Hmm - I would have preferred more blue instead of the yellow. I guess they need to have the yellow for Elf? I thought they'd have more blue considering the French connection. Obviously the Orange is because of ING which is Dutch.
Whats with those uniforms just as bad as the new Mclaren ones.
Honda launches tonight and Red Bull tomorrow. Lets see what Newy has done with that car.

Williams will show their new car on Feb 2nd. I suspect it will be the same old - white and blue.
I miss the 97 Rothmans liveried Williams car.

The new Red Bull
You can certainly see the McLaren influence on the front.

I'd go with Inters actually althou Bridgestone said this years tyres will be of different construction to last years (harder for one thing) so its hard to be certain.

Those are BS Inters. Though they seem scrubbed or else the new Bridgestones are that much harder.
Here's another pic which makes it clearer:

Williams posting some good times in their first test last week.
Tonight the teams begin testing in Barcelona - so this should be the best indication yet of where the teams are at. Then they will be off to Bahrain for two weeks testing.
So far the BMWs are looking surprisingly good. So too Mclaren. Renault and Ferrari will be up there too.

Bit late again but here is the new Toro Rosso
Not the best angle but the fact that it's just a Red Bull copy is very clear.
Frank Williams will be pissed.

shoul dbe an interesting start this year. the grid is all over the place.
this is nice. its not that schimu left that interests me, its more the fact that all the drivers decided to do a fair bit of switching around this season.
