I'm telling you! It's the long layoff. The Big Ten gets screwed to bloody hell. Their season ends BEFORE Thanksgiving! They need to rework the bowls.
I mean, come on. If Ohio State gets blown out, will people be saying they're over-rated? No way in hell. But they did it with Michigan. We ALL know that Ohio State is the best team in the country. And Florida blowing them out proves that the bowl system is a pile of shit. It's the damn layoff and it pisses me off that I don't get to see the best teams play until over a month after they end their regular season.
DAMN YOU TO HELL BCS!!! YOU MAY HAVE GOTTEN IT RIGHT, BUT YOU SUCK!!!

We definitely need a playoff, but I don't think the long layoff is anybody's fault but Big Ten themselves. Yeah, tradition dictates when the OSU-UM game has to be played each year, but nobody is preventing them from moving that back two weeks to coincide with other conferences' championships like USC-UCLA chooses to do.

well, maybe OSU is waking up from their funk a bit. it's now 21-14. if they could just lock down and play some f-ing defense they'd be in pretty good shape.

I agree that it is mostly the Big Ten's fault, but they want their players to spend the holiday's with their families and not worried about football. But they do need to have some sort of championship game for the Big Ten.
I think no conference should have their season go past the first week in December and then after finals in college they should have a mini playoff system. That way everything is equal.

eh it's over. ohio state is showing a complete and total lack of focus. they don't deserve to win with that debacle of a first half.

USC should have been in this game. The Big-10 is made up of a bunch of candy ass mama's boys. Viva la PAC-10 (Go Cougs, you beat Arizona!)

its this type of game (and the USC and LSU game) that just goes to show all the damn media and wannabe fans out there need to quit kissing the ground of the big 10 and notre dame...
move on people the big 10 reminds me of the Cubs in baseball....everyone only loves em when they actually have a decent season
plus compared to the SEC i dont see michigan or ohio state playing what is it 6 top 25 teams during the season ?
Im a big 12 texas tech guy myself but I can see how great the sec is....

No, Boise State should have been there.

Agreed; USC lost two games, and Boise State crushed one of those. If we had a "bowl games + 1" system, the final game would've been Florida vs. Boise State.

Question for those who watched the game: When Troy Smith threw his interception in the first quarter, the Floridaplayer went down untouched, stood up and threw the ball away. Next to the ball was a Buckeyeplayer. Why didn't he just took the ball and ran in the endzone. Because technically that should have been a fumble by the Gator, right? Or is that a different rule in college football?

Boise State is undefeated but there bowl win was against probably the worst BCS team (ND doesn't count), Oklahoma. They had a wide receiver as their quarterback and they beat nobody this year and Adrian Peterson was coming off a broken collar bone. Still, it would have been fun to watch LSU or USC route Boise State.

I just don't buy the "they beat nobody" argument. The bottom line is they beat everybody on their schedule. They killed Oregon State, a team that beat USC, and they dominated OU, who was one bad-call away from being in the national championship discussion, despite of what the final score says. WAC only lost once in the bowl games, an one point loss to Miami by Nevada, a team that Boise State also killed on the road. Everybody was saying the same thing before Fiesta, about how OSU was going to dominate them with Peterson and such, and now suddenly the weakness of OSU becomes another excuse.
In a sense, it's similar to what doubters were arguing about Florida before last night, about how they didn't win by style and they could only escape "mediocre" teams the last four regular season games. The only chance to find out if LSU or USC could route Boise State, which I highly doubt, is to give them a chance on the field. Both USC and LSU already have the advantage of being able to still contend with one loss, but they blew their opportunities by losing twice in the regular season. Boise State was never given such an opportunity.

once again it all comes down to the fact that there needs to be a 8 team playoff.... or at least the lame +1 system that has been floating around for a few years...
anything I want to see USC, Boise play Florida....LSU already had thier chance

I GUARANTEE that if the championship game was played one or even two weeks after OSU/Michigan, then OSU would've routed Florida.
You can't have that much down time and still be on top.
Boise State, because of their style of play, probably benefited from the long layoff to do their trick plays
