Well...

They have to get by McNabb and Philly.

Then they have to get by Cincy...

Then they finally have to get by Miami... who seems to be a spoiler for undefeated teams...

Well Philly may be the hardest team. I think Miami had their one game this week with Chicago.

Nope, but I think this might be their year as long as there are no unexpected deaths or anything.

No. Their defense is too awful to win in the playoffs.

As for the regular season though, here's their remaining schedule.

11/12 - Buffalo
11/19 - @ Dallas
11/26 - Philadelphia
12/3 - @ Tennessee
12/10 - @ Jacksonville
12/18 - Cincinnati
12/24 - @ Houston
12/31 - Miami

Looking at those games, on paper they should win everyone of them. They won't though and will finish the year 14-2. Two of those teams are going to catch Manning on a somewhat off day, and will be able to run all over the defense. Also the Colts have played all of their games close. Two of those are eventually going to go against them.

It wouldn't surprise me if the Broncos, Colts and Patriots end up with the same record, but I see it finishing with.

1 Seed - Colts: 14-2
2 Seed - Patriots: 13-3 (Maybe tied with Colts)
3 Seed - Broncos: 12-4

I can see that. They should lose at least two of the Cincy/Jacky/Philly trifecta, not taking any unforseen upsets.

Do the Colts play the starters on the last game of the regular season?!.. Because they might lose to Miami if they do. The Colts are CRAP without their starters.

but yeah Cincy, Jacksonville and Philly are potential losses too

Well one thing I hope is that Dungy doesnt bench Manning at the end of the season when they wont need anymore wins and result in making him cold in the playoffs.

This is a team that can become AFC champs without a defense that is up to par with the offense, the win against Patriots proves it even moreso.

Nope.

And they're done early in the playoffs, as always.

Take this with a grain of salt, since I'm a Patriots fan, but trying to be as objective as possible.....

The Colts didn't win the game because of what they did. The Patriots simply lost the game because of the turnovers. And even with the five turnovers, they still had a chance to tie the game on the final drive. The Colts had every opportunity to put the Patriots away in the third quarter, and they just couldn't get the job done. If the Colts play the same way in the playoffs, they'll lose to either Denver or New England.

The Colts dominated the entire game and only managed to escape with a win.

well, I still want to see someone beat Payton. Also next to a Super Bowl win, I would think that an undefeated season would look great on one career resume so I hope that they go for it. Whether they make it or not is another story.

Well the Colts would have won by 13 if Vinateri hadn't uncharacteristically missed 2 field goals.

To say someone "escaped" with a win, while they won by a touchdown is a bit silly. It isn't like they turned the ball over 6 times and still won. THAT'S escaping with a win.

But, you did admit you were a Patriots fan, so...

Oh by the way, despite my comments, no, I don't think the Colts will go 16-0.

No, they escaped with a win.

Missing 2 field goals and letting a team that turns the ball over 5+ times hang around is escaping with a win.

but the end result is they won and in the 16 games, there are only so many toss up games that could be won or lost so lets see how the rest of the NFL season shapes up.

The Colts played a lot better than the Patriots. They did not "escape," New England was lucky to be in the game.

Tell me how that's a contradiction?

They outplayed New England in every facet of the game. A team being lucky to be in the game doesn't mean their oponent "escaped" cause it clearly looked like the Colts were going to win the game in the second half, despite being up by only a touchdown. Escaping is playing like shit and still winning. Not... outplaying your oponent and winning by a touchdown.

Did New England "escape" with a win in all their super bowl victories? They only won by 3 points in all 3 of them. That's even less than what the Colts won by!

First things first. You're comparing a three Super Bowl victories to a Week 9 football game? Want to compare some pre-season games too?

Second, the Colts offense played well in the first half. The Colts defense dominated the second half. Both combined equals the Colts dominated the entire game, and yet the Patriots somehow stuck around. The game was close in the last half because the Colts couldn't throw the knockout punch, despite the Patriots turning the ball over five times. They escaped with the win despite the fact they played a dominating game.

Don't know how you can "escape" with a win while having dominated the game.

The tables have been turned.
