They didn't do it separately for BATMAN BEGINS/T3/POSEIDON
KC wrote: I have a quick question. Are they going to count the Tuesday 10 pm shows separately from the opening day gross like they did when Matrix Reloaded came out? If they do (which they should) then its opening day gross will be lower be at least 5-10 mil.
So they should be counting it with Wed with SUPERMAN

But won't.

If box office websites don't count it sepatately, then there is a conspiracy against Reloaded and I say Reloaded's opening day should be 42.5 million!!

I know they did and so did every other box office site that I know. All that I'm saying is that since Superman also opens with 10 pm shows on Tuesday, they should be counted separately from its Wed opening day gross.
I remember everyone on BOM going nuts when they first reported Reloaded opened with $42.5 mil but then later on in the day changed it to $37 so Reloaded could not have the opening day record. Bastards.

I would expect exactly the opposite. Since the release date was shanged so late in it's marketing, I'd say a good hunk of people still consider the 30 to be it's "official" release date. I'm expecting a huge fall on Thursday due to the fanboy rush on Wednesday, but a huge increase on Friday.

Okay, even I, the eternal pessimist about the film, have to admit that the buzz for the film is omnipotent. There are commercials everywhere, the originals are playing on every channel and I watched Superman II yesterday and now even I am kind of excited. Maybe I underestimated the film just a bit.

My nearly-final prediction:
Wednesday: $23 million
Thursday: $13.8 million (-40%)
Friday: $20.7 million (+50%)
Saturday: $22.1 million (+7%)
Sunday: $17.7 million (-20%)
Monday: $13.3 million (-25%)
Tuesday: $8 million (-40%)
Wednesday: $6 million (-25%)
Thursday: $5.4 million (-10%)
Friday: $7.6 million (+40%)
Saturday: $9.9 million (+30%)
Sunday: $7.4 million (-25%)
Opening weekend: $60.5 million
Five day: $97.3 million
Six day: $115 million
Seven day: $123 million
Second weekend: $24.9 million (-58.8%)
Ten day: $159.3 million
Domestic Gross: $216,276,048
International Gross: $234,299,064
Worldwide Gross: $450,575,112
I've bowed to the inevitable and admitted that, yes, this will cross $200 million. But it won't be the $250 million monster some of you are predicting.

It still won't make $105 million in five days.

Tues: 9 mil Wed: 16 mil Um...no. I'm thinking 4m though could be lower. This film has a fanbase no doubt it, but its not devoted to its franchise that much that a lot of people would go be seeing 10PM showings. I'm thinking 21.5m Wed, and 4m from the previews for a 25.5m OD, 6th highest Wed. ever.
I think the total opening day including the Tues 10 pm shows will be around 25 mil, but I think a large % of that will come from the 10 pm shows. Based on my local area, the 10 pm shows are selling out like crazy. And compared to X3 which grossed around 5 mil (I think) on midnight shows, there were no sellouts in my local area. The Tues 10 shows will be huge!
