As much as you and Excel may not want to believe this, YES, WB Bought and Paid Critics to give Praise to this mopvie and BOTH MSNBC and The HOLLYWOOD REPORTER once again didn't even review the movie based on their reviews you posted.. They told us absolutely nothing we already know and have seen.. The 1 thing in the HOLLYWOOD REPORT so called Review that pretty much will seal this movie's fate is quote:" Director Bryan Singer positions this new film as a sequel to Donner's film, and his Superman -- played with winning fortitude by newcomer Brandon Routh -- is less a Man of Steel than a Man of Heart".
The fact is is that David Poland at LEAST reviewed the movie pointing out both Pro's and Con's and every review you've posted so far, what?? All 14 of them?? Didn't even review the movie anymore than what these show.. Christ, can anyone give us an actual damn REVIEW?? You know?? CRITIQUE IT?? Once again, this shows what we call critics giving us "Symathy Reviews" it would seem as though there actually afraid to CRITIQUE the movie because it's dedicated to Christropher and Dana Reeve so there for, they'll give it a Pass because of that.. Yawn.. I look forward to actually REVIEWING THE MOVIE instead of kissing WB's ass..

The july 4th record will be safe MARK MY WORDS.
SR will not beat SM2 july 4th record PERIOD

That's close to a rave review for SR. It will be interesting to see what Variety says about the film.

Variety loves Superman Returns. Ranks it with Spiderman 2 and Batman Begins as one of the best comic book films ever.

Quote: I'm not saying Superman Returns is Son of Poseidon, far from it, but last Thursday's (6.15) NRG numbers are indicating a fairly good but less-than-phenomenal July 4th holiday opening. Definite interest was at 38%, but two weeks before opening a tentpole movie of this size should be closer to 50% at this stage. (Pirates of the Caribbean's definite interest was at 67%, and that's three weeks out.) Superman Returns had a first-choice rating of 9%, but at this stage of the game that number should be in the high teens. Warner Bros. has a nine-day window -- Wednesday, 6.28 to Thursday July 6 -- to make all the Superman dough they can before Pirates crashes through on Friday, July 7. Whatever Superman Returns does during its three-day weekend period (6.30 to 7.2) will be halved the following weekend. The domestic goal is to make $100 million over the first seven days, and then multiply that by at least 2.5 before heading off to DVD. Anything less will be considered a shortfall. I hear this, I hear this...and on some level it's not right. Superman Returns is a true heart movie -- Pirates, sight unseen, is a jackoff eye-mascara 16-ounce-can-of-Budweiser movie
Thats from Jeffrey Wells, the biggest Superman supporter and notice how he tries to write off POTC2 with that mascara comment. Even Wells is worried about SR not doing so well

Yeah, but you wouldnt rank it as one of the best comic flicks since you didnt like it, Variety gave BB a negative review when it came out now they're saying it ranks as one of the best comic films.

Just checked, he doesnt praise bb.
Sure to rate with aficionados alongside "Spider-Man 2" and, for many, "Batman Begins"

But the marketing hasn't even begun! Just wait, Roid, when the marketing blitz begins, that percentage will jump up to at least 95%. It's coming Roid, just you wait...

Wells isnt a good predictor so his 2.5 million based on a 7 day prediction would almost put it in the same legs as WC but the survey numbers seem very low compared to how much interest and first choice DVD and X3 had 2 weeks before they opened, I mean 9% first choice is kind of low still I would give it a chance of passing 200 million
