I don't think people viewing the trailer online will help the film that much, there just isn't a substantial amount of people who watch these things. It's mostly movie geeks and message board users like us, we get the sneak peeks.

It all depends. It'll help obviously. All theatrical trailers help. all itll do is increase buzz. but if i were w.b. i would attached it to cars, not click. I think W.B. just really wants to cover all the bases for supermans opening week. they will really be putting superman into every aspect of our culture. well see him virtually anywhere we look. he will be EVERYWHERE.

but i wouldnt of done this. id take the 3 million this cost and just bought a bunch of tv spots.

If they're handled right, they help.

You know, I saw Superman on a bag of Doritos today.

It was incredible.

excel, what in God's name are you talking about? Explain how I'm going to see Superman-related things at my local car dealership, restaurants and gas stations. Will the pepperoni on my pizza be in the shape of the "S"?

You really do not make ANY sense sometimes.

superman has tie ins with quaker state motor oil and i *believe* it was chrysler cars.
superman has a tie in with burger king in the u.s. for sure , but also seems to have kfc too if you gove to europe.
gas stations-well go inside and look at the food. superman will be on any pepsi product, lays chips product,or dorito product. and if the gas station happens to 7/11, hell be on your slurpees, too.

DONT. BUY. THEM.

"kryptonite" (Guocamole) dorritos = bad idea. they taste so shitty. but kryptonite ice slurpees are verrry good.

to qoute the quaker state motor oil announcement-
"we wanted to showcase power and endurance, so we couldn't find a better a partner to showcase that with then Superman".

coincidentally, thats the EXACT same sentence the duracell announcement used too, i believe.

In other news, I was just inagurated as the next Emperor of China.

How interesting. In related news. I am now Chancellor of Germany.

In unrelated news, Superman Returns fanboys are being cast as extras in the One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest remake...

yeah, uhhh, ahem. wtf is that supposed to mean? :nonono:

How come I'm not in the movie with you guys?

Here's the thing. I am not hating on Superman either. I absolutely love the first two. Superman 2 is my favourite superhero film of all time. Spiderman 2 even copied the blueprint of that film, which was very smart. But here's the thing. The first two films were just perfect and just because you can remake a film, o continue it 20 years later, doesn't mean you should. I don't recall that much fanfare and demand for the film. BB made 200 because it was a gr eat film, not because everyone wanted another Batman. Superman just looks out of place. The actor playing him looks wrong, Kate Bosworth looks wrong and as much as it pains me to say this, so does Kevin Spacey. The whole film looks out of place. It just doesn't seem quite right. The trailers are brutal and the only reason why people are predicting these insane numbers are because....because....well I'm not sure. Since when is any film, except ROTK and EPIII "guaranteed" to make 300 mill? If this film is decent, then it might make 200 mill and if it stinks like it looks like it will, it might make about 150 mill.

In OTHER news, Lecter and bkb will be playing the title roles in the upcoming film , dumb & dumber 3.

At least I'll be getting a good paycheck unlike the Supes fanboys :P

you guessed it, a 4th domestic trailer-3rd us theatrical trailer-is on the way. 2 minutes n 26 second.

it arrives click in 2 weeks, but itll be online before probably.

What the hell? Well...I really don't know what to make of this situation, good or bad.

what to make-the marketing campaign is huge, thats what you make of it!

Another trailer?! I really think that WB is losing confidence in the film. The movie was less than a month away when they finally flinched and moved SR up two days. and now they feel compelled to put out ANOTHER trailer five days before the release of the actual movie?

Still, I stand by my $285 million (final U.S. total) prediction.

Why do we need another trailer when the actual movie will be out five days later? That's my problem.

And I wouldn't call their marketing campaign brilliant.

Because their first and second one failed to capture enough audiences. It's actually true, unfortunately.

excel, how do you know it's been planned for months? Did they call you up to let you know? You act like an insider of WB, and this wasn't even listed on that tentative schedule you had months ago.

Yeah, except for the one that played with X3, none of the trailers have done very well with audiences I've been with, and the X3 one didn't get a very big reaction at that.
