Seems as though both Ben & Rasheed are taking it out on the coach, not enough practice in the defensive game and such, but when do you have time to practice when you cant win your series early? The cavs series totally screwed them up big time, now they got that big dent in the armor that anyone can attack.

Pistons are pretty much finished now, judging by how tonights game went. Wade is just being magnificent, and the Pistons are playing stupid and lousy. All this dynasty talk has turned them into cocky assholes, they're no longer playing as a team. Even the coach is doing a bad job, this was the 2nd game in a row where they haven't fouled when they were down in the last couple minutes. I mean, where's the logic in that? If you're down 10, you foul and extend the last couple minutes as long as you can, you don't let them run the clock down. Jeez. The Pistons have none of the heart or character of the Bulls in the 90s or even the San Antonio Spurs. They've only won championship, I don't really see them going on a historic streak anytime soon.

Pistons love to be the underdogs, and now we are. The series is a lock.

While it looks bad for the Pistons, they are hardly out of this yet. If they take care of their home game tomorrow (which they should), they'll be looking at a game 6 in Miami... win that and force a game 7 on their home turf. We saw this already a couple times in the playoffs with Phoenix doing it to the Lakers and SA forcing a game 7 at their home after being down 3-1.
The Pistons have had a great shot to win each game they lost... they were in each of the last 2 ballgames late in the game, only to completely blow it in the 4th quarter... which leads me to believe they are out of gas. The bad sign for the Pistons is that they are fighting so badly that it is spilling out to the press... it reminds me of what happened to the Lakers when the Pistons pounded them in the 2004 Finals.
If the Pistons can hold it together, I think they still have many good years ahead of them... they are a young team and Miami is only getting older (except for Wade). The problem is that Detroit plays its best as the underdog as they are a team made up of underdogs and outcasts. I said a long time ago in this thread that the smartest thing the league did was to name 4 of them all stars. Once they got the praise it took away their edge. Just look at their record from pre-All Star break to post-All Star break.

Forget LeBron, I think Wade is the NBA's best young player. He seems to go entire quarters where he doesn't miss.

Wade can get hurt too often and is inconsistent. When he is on, he's great, but he has his times where he looks very average. Plus Wade whines way too much... his complaints early on that the media and the Pistons don't pat him on the back enough when the Heat win sounded very childish.
Lebron is more consistent, and I respect him more. On top of that, Lebron has a bright future as he has a young team, whereas the Heat are only getting older and this year could be their last legitimate shot. The clock is ticking for Shaq, Walker, Mourning, and Payton...

Celebrating a little early aren't we? I seem to recall a few people here that have egg on their face after celebrating the Pistons premature death in the last round. I only hope I can eventually add your post to the list!
There is no better team in elimination games. The Pistons are 11-2 in those games over the past 4 years. If they can just eek out the game 6 victory in Miami, we're looking at a game 7 at Detroit. Granted that's no easy task, but Detroit has the best road record in the NBA, the best record in elimination games in NBA history, was in both of the previous games in Miami late in the game, and have momentum from this game. It's hardly out of the question that they can do it. I never count out Detroit until I hear that final buzzer go off...
Also, I'll hardly be crying if the Pistons lose. They've had a tremendous 4 years (4 ECF appearances, 2 Finals appearances, 1 NBA title, and the best record in the NBA this year) and this team still has a good 2-3 years in them where they can be a serious competitor. I'm sad for fans of teams like the GSW who have no hope and no glory, but I'm definitely not sad for us Piston fans!
Also, I think it's very complimentary to see the hatred toward the Pistons here. You know your team is good when others start to get so excited that they may lose. I remember hating the Lakers that much a few years back, and it's a compliment... they're so good you get sick of seeing them win. So, party on at the prospect the Pistons may lose... there's no greater compliment!

My prediction for the Heat vs. Pistons game tonight:
If the Heat lose, Wade will magically get hurt. He's only healthy when the Heat are winning...

Well, I hate to say it, but the Heat was just the better team in this series. I'll be rooting for the Heat to win it all now. I hate Dwayne Wade with a passion (almost as much as Kobe), but I like Shaq and it would be cool to see him get a ring post-Kobe. Plus if Miami dominates the West, that'll make the Pistons look a little better. At least we'll see a brand new winner this year in the NBA. None of the remaining teams have ever won a championship.
As for the Pistons in the off season, I'm kind of hoping that Detroit does not re-sign Ben Wallace. He's going to be asking about 10 million a year, and he's just not worth it since the league has changed to be more geared toward the offensive players (Stern made the changes right after the Pistons won in 2004). 10 million will buy a decent replacement that can shoot and a few good bench players. Either wya, the Pistons should be strong contenders again next year... the rest of the core group - Billups, Hamilton, Sheed, and Prince - should all be back and are all still in their prime, especially Prince who has been getting better every year.

I've lost all I could cheer for. Guess Dallas is least on non-likeness scale now. Too bad repeat of last year didn't happen.

thank god we'll have completely new teams in the finals this year, it gets tiring to have the same teams play for the title year in and year out.

Pistons=owned.
I'm happy for the Heat. If they're against Dallas, who I don't really like, I'll be cheering for them. If it's Phoenix, it'll be about equal, because Phoenix winning would be insane.
