Quality wise it can be argued as being good, just remember by dragging out the runtime its probably going to be a while till we see Superman actually use his powers to battle and i dont mean flying, it was basically that way with Kong,Hulk and Batman Begins where we dont see their full fascination and stature till an hr or more into the movie. That by itself will discourage the kid factor who are more short attention spanned. And from the plotline, it does seem that way by having the first hr be very slow with flashbacks of Clarks childhood to returning to his home planet and back to earth

superman first hour is slow the way spidermans was.

anything is possible but hype would need to explode. with the amount of marketing happening its possible, but its a 1/100 shot at getting 40 million. 27-31 is more likely.
and disney wants the record.

it has 2 separet(type) 5 day weekends to track.
5 day july fourth week (friday, june 30th through tuesday july 4th) which i have around 110 million.
and then its opening 5 day, wednesday through sunday, i have around 115 million.
