its safeto assume-i think-w.b. moved it up for the SAME reason itmoved batman begins up.

the quality is up to par with what they wanted-word. its GOOD in their eyes. thi sgets word of mouth heading into pening weekend and july 4th week, and allows for it gain more momentum heading into pirates 2, for a better hold.

opening week will be astounding for this, every day is like a weekend day.

Or they want to bide more time before POTC 2 mutilates it.

people really need to get out of their computers and spend some time outside breathing fresh air.

If I did that I wouldn't even KNOW there was a Superman movie coming out.

i said some time outside, not all the time outside....

Batman Begins, Part Deux

Except Begins didn't precede a week of what will be the biggest domestic opener of all time, and it had astonishing WOM, which kept it afloat to a decent total and good legs.

This will have a trouble getting a three multiplier even with BB quality.

I know. I made the BB2 reference because WB also didn't move BB to Wednesday until about a month before its release.

Lowering your rpediction so you can stay in the bet?

I know. It was only the biggest film of 2003. And it only sold a gazillion copies on dVD. Yep, overestimating this one for sure.

I'll have you know that being the DC whore i am, Superman is teh number 1 film on my anticipation list. My box office negativity is completely independant of how i feel the quality of the film will be.

Well it was the 3rd biggest film of 03' and sold about 14m dvds in a month. Not the biggest film of 03' but it's right up there.

My opening weekend prediction? I suppose, but if it's a good movie it can work to its advantage.

Magnus, do you want to keep your guarantee with this release date change? You still think it'll make $85 million over the three day weekend?

Too bad excel is "gone for good." He could've at least said something that included a Superman quote I was thinking something like:

Now that it moved to the 28th, it'll be beneficial for both this and Dead Man's Chest.

In related news, Superhero Hype! is hearing that the running time for Superman Returns is 150 minutes, or 2 1/2 hours.
