Nah, I think it was legit. It was redirected off it.

I can't believe Carolina is up 2-0 on New Jersey. Shocks me.

It was a crazy game. Carolina deserved to win, though. Brodeur kept Jersey in the game.

xia, are you a Sharks fan? 'Cuz I'm an Oilers fan. ;) Are you watching the game?

I'm not really that surprised. Carolina had an amazing season this year. I guess the one surprise would be Ward, but he's really proving himself now.

PEACE, Mike.

I can't believe how wide open this year is. Any of the eight remaining teams could conceivably win the Cup. Except maybe Colorado, who're having a helluva time with Bryzgalov. But any of the other ones could take it. There is no clear front-runner. It's nuts.

In my opinion, the cup is clearly going to an eastern team. I think all 4 teams left in the Eastern division, even New Jersey and Ottawa who are losing, are better than the 4 teams left in the Western division.

PEACE, Mike.

It's funny, even though I lived in NC for 7 years, Devils was in fact originally my favorite team mainly because of Brodeur and their defensive style. Then I started following Hurricanes, especially the year they went to the final. Haven't developed into a true Shark fan yet, but they are certainly the team I'm pulling for out of West.

Well, Edmonton lost 2-1 again. They're playing quite poorly. They've got no urgency, no drive to win. I guess they feel like they've done all they can do this season.

The crowd at Rexall will hopefully shake them out of it. ;)

Man, there's not much Edmonton could do. It's not that they're playing necessarily bad, it's just that the Sharks are doing amazingg. Thornton, Marleau, Cheecho, Machelik, the talent is murdering. And they're playing smart too, no icings and no penalties(1 the whole game!). Edmonton was getting no chances, at all.

Well, Anaheim beat Colorado 4-3 in OT. Lupul scored all of their goals. Colorado needed to win this game, and they blew it. They'll be done in four or five now. I can see them taking the next game at home, but then losing back in Anaheim.

And Bryzgalov's shutout streak ended right at the end of the first period. I wonder if he's for real.

I agree, Buffalo and Carolina are looking really good and we all know New Jersey and Ottawa are quality teams!

Ugh, it's frustrating as hell when your team out-shoots their opponant in every game and yet still manages to loose. :(

Eh, that's hockey I guess.

Sens and Devils are done now. Both lost tonight, both are down 3-0. I hope the Oilers can avoid a similar fate, but I doubt it.

Is anyone else depressed that the final four teams are gonna be Anaheim, San Jose, Carolina, and Buffalo? Talk about anti-climatic.

I actually think Buffalo may take it. They only finished 3 points behind the Sens, so they're probably the best team left (going by the season performance).

Wow, all series down 3-0 ('cept Oilers and Sharks, which is just 2-0). The Devils taking a massive beating, after shutting out the Rangers.

I suppose that's the least depressing option. Better than having a team from Carolina or California winning the Stanley Cup, which is as bad as when teams from Texas and Florida won. The Cup belongs in Canada, or at least northern U.S., where they actually watch hockey. Fans in Carolina or California won't even care. :disgust:

Well, it looks to me like Carolina, Buffalo, and Anaheim have their respective series. Coming back to win after a 3-0 deficit in a series is virtually unheard of. MAYBE, MAYBE ONE team will come back. But extremely unlikely.

San Jose vs. Edmonton is currently 2-1 for San Jose - if San Jose wins tonight, there is another 3-0 series. Craziness. This game isn't over yet though.

In any event, it's been a rather boring 2nd round of the playoffs. Nothing is more boring than one team dominating the series. Individual games have been fairly good though.

PEACE, Mike.

These playoffs have quickly gone from being one of the best, in the first round, to one of the worst. None of the teams that are winning I like, and the Stanley Cup finals could be the most boring in years. I mean, Anaheim vs. Carolina? No one wants to see that. No one. The TV ratings will be absolute crap is that happens. No one in Canada wants that. No one.

I can't believe Edmonton gave up their lead. They had an amazing first period, and they've just sucked since then. So much for that. :disgust:
