Woot, looks like I got lots of points for nailing the NJ/NY series. 1 for being right, 2 for the 4-0 predict, 2 for the earliest team out, and 2 for Brodeur's GAA.

Also 2 for NJ allowing the fewest goals.

Casualties now:
Dallas
Tampa Bay
Nashville
Do you guys realize that if the WEST goes the way it is looking, then you will have the 1, 2, 4 and the 6 seeds gone?
And if that happens, it will look like this:
Edmonton (8) VS> Calgray (3)
San Jose (5) vs. Colorado (7)
How funny is that?

So far Colorado, San Jose, Ottawa and New Jersey have won their series. Chip's the only one to go 4 for 4 so far, simply because he's the only one to pick Colorado.
The Rangers were first out, Chip, O, and Shack got it right. This won't change.
The shortest series was NJ/NYR, Chip, Shack, Cotton and O all got that. This won't change.
The biggest blow-out so far has been in the Buffalo/Philly series, no one picked that. This can still change.
The longest game so far has been in the Edmonton/Detroit series, no one picked that. This can still change.
Ottawa has scored the most goals, Chip, me, Shack, O, and baumer all got it right. This can still change.
New Jersey has allowed the fewest goals, Shack got it right. This one won't change.
The best goalie, both in terms in GAA and save percentage, has been Brodeur, and it's unlikely that any of the other goalies will top him. Me, Shack, and O got one or the other right, and Cotton got them both right.
The top goal scorer so far is Patrick Marleau, and the top point getter is Patrik Elias, no one picked either. This can still change.
So, briefly, it looks like the lead is between Chip and Shack at this point, though things can still change before the end of the round.

One more series to go, and then I'll have the results from round one up and the questions for round two.

Results tonight mean I nailed both the Carolina/Montreal and Buffalo/Philly series, so I guess I'll have the lead.
Does Buffalo's 7 tonight mean they passed Ottawa's total?

Re: The Stanley Cup Playoffs Pool
Alright, it's time for some round one updates:
ROUND ONE RESULTS

6 Anaheim Mighty Ducks in seven games
5 San Jose Sharks in five games
EASTERN CONFERENCE
1 Ottawa Senators in five games
2 Carolina Hurricanes in six games
3 New Jersey Devils in four games
4 Buffalo Sabres in six games
QUESTIONS
1. Which series will last the fewest games? New Jersey/New York
2. Which series will last the most games? Calgary/Anaheim
3. Which series will have the biggest blow-out? Buffalo/Philadelphia
4. Which series will have the longest game? Edmonton/Detroit
5. Which team will score the most goals? Buffalo
6. Which team will allow the fewest goals? New Jersey
7. Which player will score the most goals? Patrick Marleau
8. Which player will score the most points? Patrik Elias
9. Which goalie will have the best goals against average? Ilja Bryzgalov
10. Which goalie will have the best save percentage? Ilja Bryzgalov
FULL PLAYOFF QUESTIONS
1. Which team will be eliminated first? New York
Amazingly, Bryzgalov passed Brodeur to become the best goalie of round one! This will definitely have an effect on the standings. Which are:
1. Shack - 18
2. ChipMunky - 15
3. O - 10
4. baumer72 - 8
5. Cotton - 7
6. trixster - 6
7. MikeQ. - 5
Congrats to Shack, who accurately predicted four of the series, right down to the number of games, to take the lead away from ChipMunky. Round Two will be up shortly...

Mine's not much better. I was only 4-4 picking the right teams, and I only nailed the right number of games in one of them. That's why I did more questions this round, more chance to pick up points.

I see everyone's jumping on the Oilers' bandwagon... except Mike. Even Chip thinks they'll win.

I would love to see Edmonton win. My score in this betting pool is already crappy anyways. I'm just going with what my gut tells me (i.e. trying to be "objective" instead of picking Edmonton because I REALLY WANT them to win). I think San Jose has been a really strong team ever since Thornton joined them. He's a real leader, and the incredible jump in wins was not a coincidence. They dominated Nashville 4-1 in that series, and San Jose has a good habit of really wrapping up the game in the 3rd period, and since I think the series will be close, since both teams are capable, San Jose will edge out and win.
I could quite honestly see Edmonton winning though (and Ottawa losing to Buffalo).
PEACE, Mike.

Well, baumer missed the deadline again, even though I sent him a PM. I'll wait to see if he does predict, but as of right now, everyone else did.

Yeah, I'll accept them, as they don't seem to be influenced by the games last night. One thing though - for the last question, you have the word ONE and the number 2. I'll assume, based on your other predictions, that you meant TWO, right?
