Yeah, it's a good move. We were stuck without a lefty last year, and Myers is a veteran who's been in big-spots and knows how to throw strikes.

Renteria to Braves.
Kenny Rogers to Tigers.
Ramon Hernandez to Orioles.
Bernie back to the Yanks?

insane trades day.
Apparently, Nomar is close to joining the Blue Jays. They're definitely shaping up to be a power in 06. Could easily slip by Boston and New York.
Shap needs to make some moves soon. Get Mench from Texas or something. Rangers need pitching, we've got it. Trade good ole Jason Davis, as we never use him.

Meh, the Jays still don't have enough. A.J. "I was worse than Pavano in the N.L." Burnett won't help them THAT much.

Sox dump Renteria yesterday, and today Tejada announces he wants a trade and would prefer a team on the east coast, mainly THE BOSTON RED SOX
Fox Sports
"A source close to Tejada, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said Tejada would like to be traded to a team on the East Coast, and mentioned the Boston Red Sox as a possible destination."

What are they gonna trade the O's? They have no farm left. Unless they're willing to part with Manny I don't see it happening.

They're looking for starting pitching, so maybe Wells and someone else, although Wells prefers the West Coast...They'll find a way if they're interested enough...

Indians sign utility infielder Lou Merloni, who had played for them in 2004. ESPN has an article saying he is going to try and pursuade Nomar Garciaparra to sign with Cleveland, which would be great. Merloni is a close friend or Nomar. Merloni is a great, versitaile infielder and a nice upgrade over Jose Hernandez.
Here's the link for the ESPN article

LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU!
Lou's a decent infielder, but I wouldn't expect much from him offensively. He's a nice utility guy. (As you know). Great might be strecthing it a bit too far though.
As for Nomar, if you like an injury prone has-been than he is your man. However, if he isn't hurt at all this season (That's if his wrist magically becomes healed along with his groin) he should give you guys 20hr and 80rbi's. That's the best case scenario though.

hit over .280 for the tribe in '04 and hits about that for his career. compare that to jose hernandez who was our utility infielder last year. and i'd take my chances with nomar anyday over blake and/or broussard

With the exception of his average, what's wrong with Broussard? Does he make a lot of errors? I wouldn't mind the Red Sox getting a first baseman who hit close to 20hr last year. Anything is an upgrade over Kevin Millar. Maybe we could get Andres Gallaraga out of retirement?

he's horrid in the clutch. strikes out wayyyyyy too much also. same with casey blake. you can go ahead and have broussard, you'll be begging the sox to trade him after a season or less.

anything except ben broussard. his stats are deceiving. i never once have seen him get one hit in a clutch situation. all he is good for is a double play, pop-up or strikeout.

He's come through a few times for us. Like in that game against Oakland he hit those two home runs. And back in June he was really good. He's too streaky though, and he really let us down at the end of the season.
However, if we can only upgrade one postion, I'd say it's definitely right field. Blake was never good last year, and doesn't have near the potential of Broussard. Nomar said he'd like to play right field, so it works.

Who laughed? It's a great idea. Every team should go after Clemens.

Dodgers get Nomar .. *sigh*
I hear rumors that we might trade Coco to Boston for Arroyo/Clement or Marte. Arroyo would be awesome, but not for Coco.
