furcal to dodgers. 3 years, $40 million. the dodgers are insane. they are giving $13+ million a year for 12hr, 58rbi and a .284 average. no wonder they are a laughingstock now.

The Indians have reached an agreement with Paul Byrd!!!!! Two years, $14.25M .. with an option for a 3rd.

Finally Shap does something.

now if we can either re-sign millwood or trade for vazquez we'd prolly have the best rotation in the AL

I didn't realize the Marlins beat the Indians in the World Series again, but the firesale continues nonetheless. Paul Lo Duca was traded to the Mets for some prospects.

Willis and Cabrera are both young and cheap, so theres little chance. But its still fun to imagine getting both of them, it'd solve our problems real quick.

omg, nothings official yet but it looks like we've got Hoffman. Expect an announcement tomorrow.

msn.foxsports.com/mlb/story/5141070

"The Indians met Monday morning with Rick Thurman, the representative for Trevor Hoffman, and appear ready to sign the free-agent closer to a three-year deal in the $21 million to $24 million range. Hoffman is expected to take a physical for the Indians on Tuesday."

And .... those crazy Blue Jays look like they're gonna get Burnett. 5 years, $55M. Where did they find all this money?

i read that also about hoffman, that would be sweet! now if we can get a good RF and another starter i'd be happy. maybe think about trading phillips/blake/broussard for another starter or reliever

Unfortunatly, we'd have to actually deal someone good with them. We have tons of prospects, if Shap would be willing to part with just one then we could get out championship team.

Astros declined to offer Roger Clemens arbitration. That effectivly means he isn't playing for them next year!

Indians re-sign Wickman to a 1-year, $5 million dollar deal. Hey, i'll take Wickman back. 45 saves is 45 saves. He can be shaky but gets the job done. I figure with the money we save by going back to Wickman we can put that towards upgrading 1B and RF.

I heard we were looking for bullpen help. We might get this Japanese guy.

Soriano to Nationals. Wilkerson to Texas.

Soriano moves to LF, with Vidro at 2B.

We're the only ones to officially announce a bid for him.

Well I've been satisfied with the japanese players the White Sox have gotten the last two years!

I know, Shingo had a bad year this last season, but he was spectacular in 2004.

And Iguchi is a solid 2nd baseman and did very well for us.
