Raymer is in the top 10 again after day 2. Not many recognizable names left. I found Sam Farha, Phil Ivey, and Howard Lederer. Seems Harrington and Moneymaker are out.

I'm pulling for Phil Ivey. The way he got knocked out in 2003 by Moneymaker was brutal. Not a big fan of Raymer, but he is doing an amazing job out there. Just as Dan Harrington's two consecutive final tables are impressive, this is going to be the biggest achievement ever if Raymer can pull a repeat. He just keeps accumulating chips. Mike Matusow, Jason Lester, Dutch Boyd, Howard Lederer, and John Juanda are all still hanging in there.

I am pulling for Dutch Boyd, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Greg Raymer, Mike Mateusow, John Juanda, and Paul Darden.

Darden and Boyd likely won't make it past the next day.

I want Phil Ivey at the final table, he is the best living poker player IMO, followed closely by Daniel Negranu, and I want to watch him as many hands as possible.

Raymer is an amazing guy, and a great poker mind as well. He plays vastly different from me, but he is a genious of the game. I have read alot of articles on him, and written by him, he is among the games elites. Anyone that can make such a conistant flow of money online has my respect.

Howard Lederer has always been my favorite poker player ... he plays exactly like me.

I have not mastered the on line game yet. I constatnly lose my bank roll so I respect him as well. I just don't understand how I can get so many bad beats on line, but then I began to think about it. Think of when you play live, you might play a hand every 5-10 minutes. But when you play on line, you are playing about 1-5 minutes....you are at least doubling the hands that you would play live...maybe more.

Raymer is a great player and he made some amazing plays last year at the table and is deserving of the win. If he wins this year, it will not be the greatest feat just yet. Johnny Chan won in 87, 88 and finished runner up in 89. That is unbelievable.

As for who is left, I'd love to see Lederer win as well and if he doesn't, I'd like to see Ivey win it all as well.

BTW...Raymer is leading now substantially. Ivey and Lederer are both in the top 20.

As for online, I am playing in another tourney, this one a 50+5$ tourney ... 27 people make money ... 40 left. I need to hang on.

I'd argue the other way. When Johnny Chan won, he only had to beat a couple hundred players, but if Raymer repeats, he'd have beaten more than 10 times as many. Johnny mostly only faced pros with familiar playing styles, while we have all kinds of players now, many unknown before the tournament. It has become much harder to get to the final table twice in a row, let alone repeating as the champion.

That's a great point, but the fact that no one else has done it in the history of poker is a great feat. But, Raymer has not done it yet, so let's not start sucking each others dicks just yet. :wink: But if he does make it to the final table, it will be a great feat.

True. And there is no argument that Johnny Chan is a great champion and one of THE best players in history. He is also someone that helped to propel tournament poker's popularity from late 80's through the 90's.

Lederer is out.

Lederer has dropped significantly. He is now at 200, 000 chips and is about #40. Raymer is still leading and Ivey is top 15.

Lederer got knocked out by Juanda. The table also includes Ivey. Raymer is sitting with some lesser known players.

Wow, Raymer just eliminated a player with 6s:8h against a pair of Jacks. The player pushed all-in with his remaining 80K, which isn't big at this point, so it's understandable that Raymer called. Mike Matusow is also over $1M in chips.
