Not too big a reason, they're pretty damn racist and I figured this bum 'guti' was spanish I´m sorry, but that is a pretty stupid generalization about spanish fans or spaniards in general... It´s like saying all english fans are hoolligans. In fact, there have been far more hooligan shameful "actions" in english stadiums than racist incidents in spanish ones. That was the generalization I was referring to, all english fans seem to be labelled as "hooligans". I mean I think we were threatened with expulsion from the WC after euro 2002, because of the fans. But when Spanish fans monkey chant towards the coloured England players for 90 minutes, all they get is a £400 fine, shit I could bloody pay that myself. The problem is the Spanish FA don't do shit to the racist fans, at all. Not just that match, in league matches. R.Carlos and others have suffered from racial abuse from fans. I would like to challenge you on that Quote: spaniards in general But for the majority of population I guess it would be wrong. Also inform me of these : hooligan shameful "actions" in english stadiums.
I´m sorry, but there´s a difference between beating people up and trashing places and racist chants... It´s like shouting names at someone or punching them in the face. If you can not see that the punishments to these two actions should be different...
No, they have not. I live in Spain, I watch spanish matches. It has happened in just a few of them, and by a minority. And most of the time they got booed by the rest of the stadium. I don´t expect you to tell me how it happened when I saw it here...
Anyway, I do not think any team should be disqualified by their fan´s behaviour. That is just silly. But if you want to defend England -understandable - please don´t take Spain as a example of "Why them not, too?" cause it doesn´t make any sense. Again, is the difference between insulting someone and kicking them in the head with a chair.
Oh, and you are right, hooligans don´t trash english stadiums... Only foreign stadiums and cities. They may be bastards, but apparently they are not completely stupid, uh?

and No thank you i wont have a fight with a homo, too freaky.
and guti isnt my favourite player, he is the first thing that came into my mind when i was registering.
WTF the only thing i love about english football is the FANS, they are the best fans ever.
and as for racism henry has suffered as much as r.carlos.
btw where was it that the fans threw the banana at the player????(i really cant remember thats a real question).

Its the punishment that is the issue for me. I mean I dont know how or what happens over there, but over here there has been a big stampdown on it. It seems from my standpoint, fuck all happens to the spanish fans, as from what I have seen it seems to continue nevertheless. Plus the spanish manager isn't exactly a great example. Im still wondering why he hasn't been sacked???

It started being an issue two years ago or so. It is always a minority, but what is really worrying is the relationship between some clubs and hooligans groups, and what some chairmen will give and concede them in order to get their support. That´s the real issue, IMO.
I don´t like Aragones, but his comments were off the record. Do you know how much crap (From "let´s kill them" to "Let´s beat up those frogs") goes on between coaches and players in order to motivate? I don´t particulary like it but It happens in many teams (I have played in a sub-17 team, I know first hand) and I don´t think it´s reason enough to fire anyone, unless he goes public with it. Which he didn´t.
Oh, and guti, I never said I don´t like english fans. I love the atmosphere in english stadiums, and I actually love english football, find it very entertaining. I support Liverpool, by the way.

Oh well. I guess racism issues get more coverage over here. That England spain game was front page news. The problem is, If I remember rightly, Aragones was caught in the red, and didn't apologize and seemed to condone what he said. Aragones situation reminded me of Big Rons predicament last year. After commentating a match, off air he said something about Marcel Dessaily, like "that lazy nigger". The mike was still switched on, and he was fired. But atleast the guy acknowledged he was in the wrong, and genuinely didn't mean it. Hoddle, years back was forced to resign as the England manager for something about some Karma stuff he said in a newspaper. I thought that was a pretty pathetic reason to lose the job over. I guess people of this country are slightly more sensitive?

Probably... and I guess that is a good thing. I think people need to be more sensitive about that here too, and not just treat those kind of insults as "minority nonsense". Which it is, but still needs to be erradicated.
Aragones didn´t apologize cause he thought he hadn´t done anything wrong. He was trying to motivate a player and the comment was off the record. I think he was actually racist but again, unless he states that racism in public, he is hired to be a coach, nothing else. Had he said that in a press conference, it would be another matter, methinks. Atkinson´s job was to comment, and he blew it doing that, even if he thought the mic was off.
In any case, England has had to deal with racism for a far longer time than us; we have been receiving inmigrants massively for less than ten years now. Many people don´t realize they are racist, and there is not as high an awareness as there is there. Which is another reason why I like England better... But that is another story.
But yeah, I do think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion (spanish newspapers attributed it to the fight over the Olympics this year, by the way; you know, London trying to put Madrid down) and in no way it´s the same thing with acts of physical violence by hooligans (of any nationality, I realize they are a minority in England, too).

Bull. Aragones is a racist basterd. End of discussion. He never apologised, retrackted or admitted what he said was wrong. He's such a smug basterd. Even now he is still complaining about being treated unfairly by the british media, and that he didn't deserve to be fined. (3000 euros - what a joke) If he doesn't condemn it, as far as i'm concerned he condones it. It is beyond me why he wasn't sacked. This is what he said afterwards about it : Quote: when I said what I said, I was in a private environment,"
"Then in places such as the English press, they have insulted me by calling me a racist.
Well wouldn't that be accurate?
What a fucking idiot.

No atkinsons was 'off the record' like Aragones. Also, I was wrong earlier, Atkinson had a little more decency he actually resigned himself. Now even aragones family told him to quit but, I guess he knows best. BTW i've been playing football for 6 years now for my local team, and honestly; the gaffer(s) has derogatory comments but never racial comments. Maybe it just happens in Spain?

Yeah, but Atkinson was getting paid for speaking in public, and Aragones for coaching; there is a difference. I do think that what he said was racist, But I am not sure he should have quit over that.
In any case, as I have said before, if every coach who uses racism - or sexism, or homophobia... - is sacked, there will soon be no football coaches. Not saying is fine, just the way it is. Maybe Aragones being sacked could be a lesson but, on the other hand, wouldn´t the lesson be "Don´t let yourself get caught saying something off the record"? I really don´t know.

now i dont remember who said rooney was a best player than C.Ronaldo, but that made laugh. No offense but if it wasnt C.Ronaldo M.United would have an even more poor season than it had.
as for the World Cup , if England reaches the final as someone said, than Portugal will win \:D/

The problem with Ronaldo is, he had a great first season. Last season he wasn't as good. He cannot cross the ball consistently, at all. He needs to work on his build, he falls over way too easily, and the stepovers don't work anymore. Now Rooney, yeah he might be overated but i'd pick him over Ronaldo any day.

i would like too see MU without Cristiano Ronaldo, that would be a laugh, theres no one with his speed, no one. and the guy has 18 years old, give him time, hes gonna be one of the best players in the world.

Extremly funny even though I'm a big fan of Man Utd, and love Ronaldo. :-D
As for Rooney, Ronaldo...no way I'd take Christiano before Wayne now.
