 NBA Thread
As other thread is about finals which end tonight, here's another thread to talk about NBA.
Draft, trades, news, anything...
Kurt Thomas was dealt to Phoenix for Quentin Richardson, Terry Porter fired as a coach of Milwaukee and the great Shawn Bradley is expected to retire.

Utah trades 6th and 27th pick for Portland's 3rd. Utah also gives future first rounder they have from Detroit.
Draft tonight at 1am CET.
EDIT: Jiri Welsch from Cleveland to Milwaukee for second round pick in 2006. Basically, Cleveland traded this year's 13th for that second rounder.
But, would be funny if they use cap space they got with this trade to steal Michael Redd from Milwaukee now. :-)

anyone got the full list of draft picks? I can't find who the Cavs got in the first round. Did we even get a first round pick?
Can't believe how lucky Boston got with Green at #18. Same with Atlanta with Stoudamire (or however you spell it) in the second round.

Cleveland had no picks at all in the draft.

He acquired Welsch for a 2007 first round pick and then we got a 2006 2nd round pick when we got rid of him....nice one Paxson :bur: We really need to get Michael Redd or Ray Allen.

You guys actually had a nice draft, even though haven't drafted anyone.
You traded one second round pick (this years' or next, not sure) for Orlando's second rounder this year, which is Martynas Andriuskevicius. Once projected to go in lottery, but selected in second round after all. A project he is. Hopefully for you he'll turn out fine.

but we really could've used someone like Stoudamire, and we could've gotten him if we didn't trade our first round pick. I'm fairly confident that we'll put up some cash for some shooters this year, but that would've been a hell of a start.

If you didn't traded, you could've gotten someone like Green, Graham, Granger, not just Stoudamire. Yeah, piss poor decision trading for Jiri.

Jiri Welsch, I forgot about that deal.
Do you guys still have him, or is he pretty much not in the Cavs future?

damn Ray Allen staying in Seattle. :bur:
Our options are running out if we want to actually make the playoffs this year. We need some experience on the team, and not players that will choke in the last 5 games.

Cavs and Larry Hughes agreed to a 5-year deal worth between $65-$70 million today. I would have rather had Redd, but Hughes is still a great addition. Now if the Cavs can get a three point shooter and re-sign Z they will be in good shape.

Huges is such garbage.
Cleveland is sure to suck for years to come.
Got yourselves a real winner for that 70 million!

i'll take his 22 points, 6 rebounds 4 assists and 2.8 steals per game. he shoots just about as well as allen iverson also, and is a solid defender and ballhandler.

He is a head case, trust me, I watched him at St. Louis and Philly before we dealt him. I can't believe he got 70 million. Thats almost a max contract ... insane.

Ilgauskas staying with the Cavaliers, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.
"Free agent center Zydrunas Ilgauskas will remain with the Cavaliers. Ilgauskas intends to sign a five-year deal worth between $55 and $60 million on July 22, the first day free agents can sign. Ilgauskas, who averaged 16.9 points and 8.6 rebounds a game this past season, is the second free agent to agree to a deal with the Cavs. Washington Wizards guard Larry Hughes intends to sign a deal with the Cavs worth between $65 and $70 million dollars."

I knew Z would resign with us. Hopefully he won't get hurt again.
We really really need someone who can shoot from beyond the arc. Who is left on the market?
