Good analysis, bABA. If it has decent WOM, it should get to $200M+ because it will get 2 weeks without major competition, as you mentioned.

i'm noticing for the first time how a movie's frontloaded characteristic will be helping it immensely

I'm hearing rumours it might open in 4,000+ theaters and on 10,000 () prints.
Just in case if you wish to add something to your 'final' box office analysis.
Which, btw is quite good.

Oh yes, theaters...but I'm much more amazed by the number of prints. That is, if it gets that many.

Nice article. I agree with most of your points, but I'm over 300m, overall. I think that good buzz and the character's status as an will be able to pull in the mainstream audience. Regardless of whether it is exactly as people expect Batman to be it will pull in the audience IMO if they expect a good film.
This is the second most hyped film of the summer (who knows, it might even become the most hyped) and just about everything written about it is positive and lets audiences know that this is a new beginning.

Quote: A gross anywhere around this mark would make it the second highest earning comic book franchise movie in recent memory, first being the "Spider-man" franchise. What about Men in Black?

well i did state it has a probability.
the movie is just too mature ... i think its gonna lose out on the audience thats really young (and no, darkness has little to do with it .. the themes are just too adult) and those who have come to just have fun and no more.

I only disagree with your take on marketing, you say that it's been shown before small movies untill EP3 came out, well fact is, there wasnt too many big movies out at the time and it was attached to practically everything in one place or another, also it's tv spots are very well done, they have spots for everyone to like, each spot is different then the other, one is action packed the other dramtic one about love, so it's doing a damn good job trying to appeal to everyone they possibly can, you can see for yourself here http://media.themoviebox.net/player/Bat ... s/tvspots/
