 Champions' League Finale
Did anyone see the game between AC Milan and Liverpool tonight? This game is the reason why football is the best sport in the world. I don't think there was anyone who hadn't written Liverpool off at half-time, but what a comeback! The most entertaining CL final I've ever seen, no doubt about that.

Milan were up 3-0 at half-time, then Liverpool scored 3 goals in the first 15 minutes of the second half, so there was extra time. There were no goals scored in extra time (thanks to some brilliant goalkeeping, especially by Liverpool's keeper) so the game went into penalty kicks. Milan scored 2 of their kicks but Liverpool 3 and consequently won the title. The game was tense as hell.
I didn't bet on it, I very rarely bet on sporting events because I always end up losing

From the very beginning on, till the very end, I stuck with my prediction of Liverpool winning. Very well-deserved.

this is the reason I hate football at the moment- (I'm a manchester United supporter)
I can't help thinking that I've broken a mirror or something recently....
first my favourite team lost the fa cup final on penalties....
then my LEAST favourite team win the european cup final..... - on penalties!!!!
i hate penalties.
to be fair well done liverpool for getting back in it- I'd already written them off when milan scored their second.
exciting game to watch!!! I just knew when Milan missed a few good chances in the last part of the the game- and then in extra time that fate was against them= it would go to penalties and they would lose. just like what happened to United in the fa cup final..... booooo.
well done liverpool! *grumble grumble*

Question from the left side of the pond: It seems they are not currently eligible to defend the title, thrilling as the game sounds. What are the odds UEFA will end up changing their stance? Seems a bit silly to me that a champion can't defend.

Right now it seems they won't allow them back in, but that is not confirmed. Sooner or later I think they will give in and let Liverpool back in the competition. Personally, I dont think they will be good enough to retain it next season though.

One Welsh club offered to Liverpool FC, UEFA, FA that they play one game with Liverpool in Cardiff, and the winner gets in 3rd qualifying round of Champions League - which now that Welsh club is in.
Their reason is that it will bring some recognition to the club and Welsh league, as well as they wanted to give Liverpool chance to defend the title. Bloody nice. :-)
Now it's up to FA and UEFA.

Amazing game! We actually heard heard people screaming and cheering with Liverpool´s second and third goals on the neighbourhood . A friend and I actually jumped out of our setas with the last penalty... and were very tense during extra time! - after all, the coach and a few players for L´pool are spanish... And nobody wants to see the italians win, anyway.
One of the best finals ever, for sure. Gotta love football. And if Liverpool is not allowed to defend the title, it will be a travesty.

i did. (traitor to my nation, I know)
I think they were a better team in the competition in general. although liverpool played well in the second half of the final I think they'd been pretty lucky to get that far in the first place.

I kind of agree... but that also makes them the underdog, and everybody roots for the underdog. I do, at least, unless they sre playing against Real Madrid

They have better players, that's for sure. The problem is they also have an idiot as a coach. With guys like that, Milan could have trounced Liverpool.
