By the way, look how well Monster-in-Law is going to hold up this weekend. It may make close to $15M, which just seems fantastic to me. A $90M total may be a slight possibility.

hmm - i expected atleast $35m. Crowd reports by JMorphin and Scott seemed to indicate that too. Seems like BoxOffice guru was correct in his extrapolation.

I think that's one of the signs of the Apocalypse.

How bizarre. Totally unbelievable. I expected 38, not 31.
Hopefully BOM looks better. But a drop....

For some reason I doubt that Sith number is real. Doesn't really make too much sense.

That's cool that STAR WARS dropped on Saturday \:D/, except now it's not even close to what my Saturday prediction of 36.8 Million was for Lee's Movie Info's Box Office Forecast Challenge. My Friday prediction of 29.6 Million was even closer.

With people saying that whenever a movie they think looks dumb or they thought was dumb does well then the Apocalypse should have been here a long time ago ;).

It does too. It's surprising, but it makes sense. Obviously it was just really frontloaded. I hope it drops big next weekend ;).

Well, clearly, it's a very frontloaded movie.

As someone said earlier, the whole situation is extremely reminiscent of Harry Potter 3.

Except HP3 opened on a Friday. Mav is right, this doesn't make sense.

But hey, it's natural for things not to always make sense at the BO.

This may have a little early frontloadedness but once real WOM kicks in over the next few weeks it will hold up well.

I pointed out HP3 because after its $40 mil Friday, were we not all talking about $100 mil+ weekend?
