 Meet The Parents 4 So apparently the entire cast is coming back. Will likely be out in 2026 if negotiations are happening now. Fall/winter likely. The films were very, very big but feels soooo unnecessary. At the same time, feel like a Ben Stiller revival would be welcome, and enough people watched the last three that could still be a sizable amount of people watching this. https://deadline.com/2024/12/meet-the-p ... /#comments

Re: Meet The Parents 4 The last one Little Fockers made $148m in 2010 and wasn't very good. It was also outgrossed by Tron and True Grit that Christmas.
Maybe the nostalgia will help but it feels unnecessary. DeNiro and Stiller are at the lowest their careers have been and aren't well liked anymore. This will struggle to match the third film unadjusted.
The first two though were damn good and were huge. Fockers was the biggest comedy of all time globally at the time of release.

Re: Meet The Parents 4 I didn't bother with the 3rd but I'm fine with this, it's not like we get many comedies nowadays, or Stiller acting.
If Hoffman and Streisand aren't in it they could use some other big name couple again, or stunt cast young as the kids were 5 in the 2010 movie instead of babies so they could have anyone in their early 20s.

Re: Meet The Parents 4 This era has passed. I think it's stupid when (particularly comedies) try revisiting a bygone era. It never feels the same. The world has moved on. We may cherish the old ones but it doesn't mean we want new sequels.
Create new comedies. Create new franchises. Franchises that will be cherished by the twentysomethings of 2024 a decade down the road.
