40m will happen. Industry expectations is 70m+ which looks tough to me. I am thinking low 50s for now.

Flop for its budget (mid 30s).

45m for Twisters. Think it could have a solid run.

Should clear $40m. That's not very high. But I don't believe it will be a $300m+ or $200m+ or even $150m+ blockbuster.

I think our current good box office streak will continue and Twisters will hit $60M+. Legs will be cut off by Deadpool, but a $170-190M final feels right for the movie thanks to a pretty empty August.

Twisters is probably the best blockbuster I've seen in a while. Much better than the first (which I admit I never loved even back then).

I just don't know if it can get that opening big enough to springboard it past $250m and I blame Universal for the poor release date and marketing.

It needs to open over 60m but looks more like 45.

Twisters should be very walk up heavy and perform well above when its pre sales multipliers show. We'll see what happened.

Twisters opened here to the equivalent of a $35-40m domestic opening. It was No.3 behind DM4 and IO2. That said Saturday it was at No.1. It should be bigger stateside but no guarantee. Though have to say marketing has been poor and most didn't even know it was out yet.

Ok. Presales accelerated very well today. I am bumping my OW prediction to 60m now.

Longlegs has mixed wom (much like every horror), but I think its become enough of a watercooler movie to have a good drop this weekend.

Budget aside $50m+ for Twisters sounds pretty great. If it has good WoM I'm expecting it to still have a big drop againsy Deadpool but do well for rest of summer.

Oddity hasn't generated as much buzz as other recent IFC horror films like Late Night With The Devil and In A Violent Nature. Unfortunately, it seems destined to underperform. It sounds fantastic, so I hope I'm wrong, but I just can't see it succeeding. People are more likely to discover it when it's streaming. Nevertheless, I'm really looking forward to watching it.

How were they today?

Did not accelerate as much as what I expected but still its robust. Overall it is ahead of Apes movie. So keeps 60m in play unless walkups are way worse. Will know today with the huge early shows release. I see over 700 Imax/PLF shows across just 2 MTC. overall must be twice that number and it seems to have multiple shows as well.

At least there is definite interest in the movie and good reviews are not hurting. Plus a very attractive cast. Powell is no Leo (even 2 decades ago) but he is definitely a star for sure.

A 60m ow would put 200m in play If it recovers after Deadpool.

The budget was just too high on this one, you can't ask for more from a modern disaster movie than San Andreas 198 million with a much bigger star than this movie has. Meanwhile, the worst case scenario was really low.

Where is the marketing for this movie? It seems like an easy win, but I have not seen an ad

Marketing is terrible. Though the film is good. Go see it.

Thinking 8m previews including early shows today which are extensive(2.25m ish). Low 60s OW is in play.

That would be really good imo. I just saw it and if people in middle America see it they may eat it up lol
