Quote: Maestro is a 2023 American biographical drama film that centers on the relationship between American composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre. It was directed by Bradley Cooper, from a screenplay he wrote with Josh Singer. It was produced by Martin Scorsese, Steven Spielberg, and Cooper, among others. The film stars Cooper as Bernstein alongside Carey Mulligan as Montealegre; Matt Bomer, Maya Hawke, and Sarah Silverman appear in supporting roles.
Maestro premiered at the 80th Venice International Film Festival on September 2, 2023, where it was nominated for the Golden Lion. The film was scheduled for a limited theatrical release on November 22, 2023, before streaming on Netflix on December 20. It received positive reviews from critics.

This was fine. The acting is great and it’s never boring but there’s not nearly enough focus on his music for me. That’s what I would’ve been interested in moreso than his relationship with his wife.

Honestly one of the worst oscar movies I've ever seen. This movie isn't about a Maestro. It's about Bradley Cooper and how ridiculous of a performance he can give with no one around to tell him no.

Pretty boring. I guess this is a movie about an intellectual, emotionally repressed couple who are giving as much a performance in their real life as in their profession, but that just makes them cold and hard to connect to, and much like virtually any movie that takes place over 50 years there just isn't enough time for the story especially in a movie that's going to go an extended music/dancing/etc. take at any time. This movie feels like Cooper is trying to impress art snobs.
