We don't need a remake of Raiders.

He doesn't mean remake Raiders, but go new stories in the 30s and 40s, and there are so many Macguffins. I remember a lot of the old ones considered or in the books. He'll Indy in any timeline works in my opinion (I loved the tv show)

I agree that he'll likely have a younger co-star again. Because come on, you need some young fit guy fighting in there to make it a little bit believable.

Ford has already wrapped up two of his legacy iconic roles in SW and Blade Runner. Seems like IJ5 is meant to give a better send off than its precedessor and Ford's role as an action star. Could see it do well if they position it as Ford's final film before retirement to cement his legacy. He'll be 80 when the movie gets released.

Saw a picture of Harrison back as Indy & so I can officially get excited for this movie since it's finally happening

The franchise is no longer as big and I do not see the new generation connecting with it. They need to cast someone really fresh to take the lead from Ford.

Where? Nothing on the news I can find. You sure it's not the first on set photo from Crystal Skull when he's sitting in the chair.

I'd rather the franchise die with Ford. Perhaps Uncharted movies will be its natural successor.

Same but I feel even with Ford this will open big but won't have enough legs because its obvious Ford will have a supporting role.

So who is Indy passing the torch to in Indy 5? Is it Boyd Holbrook?

Re: Indiana Jones 5 predictions (07/19/19)
Well from the first photos I’d expect some de aging. Maybe late WWII then jumping 20 years to the 60s. Might very well be Jones’ Logan coming back to right a wrong. Would they dare call it Dr. Jones and “”

Re: Indiana Jones 5 predictions (07/19/19)
100% agree this series does not resonate with current generation at all. Indy 4 in 2008 was a big, albeit nut truly massive, opener w/ $126m 4-day, I would be surprised if this beats it unless they do something to make it more relevant.
Maybe if they get Harry Styles to play Indy's grandson?

I would love a Logan style treatment to this but I am not sure studios will do that with this franchise.

“It belongs in a museum!”
“STFU Colonizing Boomer!”
Is how I imagine Indiana Jones in 2021 will be like.

So far we got a photo of a stuntman wearing a younger Indy mask and Ford in character but wearing a mask in his outfit. Can't wait for some official photos.

I really don't get making this one instead of reboot directed by JJ Abrams starring Chris Pratt or whatever

Re: Indiana Jones 5 predictions (07/19/19)
2008's IJ4 adjusts to $413,821,365 and the other three all adjust to $460M+.
There's a lot of goodwill on this one and enough time has passed. Looks like a swan song for him. Tapping into the TGM feel in its trailer also will help as will a lighter year overall. Feels good for $350M+.
If it delivers the goods like TGM type feels back to the first one, much, much more. The fact that the opening scene de-ages Ford will help it on that front.

Re: Indiana Jones 5 predictions (07/19/19)
I read a test screening spoiler review some time ago that people are talking about and the director came out and said there has been no test screening, i thought what was said in the review was to ridiculous and unbelievable to be true. After seeing the trailer, i am shocked, many of the things in the trailer were in that review.
