Will Evangeline Lilly be fired as the Wasp now that she's anti-vax mandate?

Letitia Wright is anti vaccine entirely and not fired from Black Panther 2 so Lilly should be fine considering she is at least vaxxed herself

No because being anti-mandate is not controversial.

I read some rumors that Wright's MCU future could be affected such as her being Black Panther most of the movie but giving it up in the ending. I also believe Lilly has been more open in her views by posting on instagram herself while Wright just shared a video on twitter.

They probably wouldn't have to publicly fire her like Gina Carano but they might just quietly pass on making her co star in a D+ show or show up in someone else's theatrical or something, or whatever plans they had left for the Wasp after Ant Man 3. They could have also responded to her 2020 posts by killing her off or fridging her in Ant Man 3.

Sad to see people like Neil Young fight in favor of the man vs Joe Rogan... the Young for Clapton trade feels like a loss

Tenneesee Conservatives banning Maus is weird. Are they worried that kids are gonna read stories about the holocaust then look around at what Pubs are doing and say 'hey this looks familiar!'?

Or is this just the anti-CRT end game?

Holocaust - fake news

Slavery - fake news

Genocide of the Natives - fake news

Let's make America great again through sheer ignorance! Yee haw!

Sure. :funny:

You can Google the "nudity" in the book. There's the female humanoid-mouse in the bathtub ("boobs" on display that are barely drawn as such to depict her as female) and various drawings of nude humanoid-mice (no genitals) going to the showers and gas chambers.

No one is banning this book over nudity. Good grief. There's probably more defined nudity in an 8th grade world history book.

If we're banning books for having so-called nudity, what are we do to with the many classic and religious paintings / imagery with nudity, or art sculptures like David or Venus de Milo? Even Jesus on the cross is a more "nude display" than anything in Maus.

It's stupid but conservatives have been removing books in random counties cause they're prudes for a while and in general the list of most frequently banned books is really ridiculous and has stuff like Captain Underpants and the Hunger Games on it.

Holocaust comparisons have been somewhat politically neutral since both sides compare the other to the nazis. I don't think the right is that interested in removing it compared to CRT.

Post Re: Cancellation of pop culture and celebrities thread
I've actually been reading a lot about all sorts of books being banned over the past ~2-3 years. It's always been a problem, but it caught my attention two years back when we put up a more permanent (which comes and goes still) "Banned Books" section at our stores outside of Banned Books Week. (I worked at/now hire for Barnes & Nobles.)

It caught my attention because, "Why do we need a banned books section, exactly? Are books STILL being banned often?" (Besides to get more sales, of course.) So after looking at the pretty long list of books, it included the usual well-known banned books, but also many recent releases, and the reasons behind their banning is quite varied. (The Captain Underpants children's books, huge bestsellers, are getting band frequently for a number of reasons, from featuring a same-sex couple to partial nudity...)

It doesn't really take much for a book to be banned. Usually just enough of a push from a loud vocal minority of people in a community. If a dozen parents, for example, argue that a book that may have something they agree is "inappropriate", there's a decent chance it'll get banned in their school district to keep them happy. It's really stupid. And in regard to parents who act like this, it's just a measure of how they've failed (or failing) as parents if they're really concerned about something written or shown in a book negatively impacting their child in some way.

Censorship, aside from being wrong, has the exact opposite effect, especially for curious kids. If they know a book was banned by their school, they're going to seek it out.

The best way to ensure everyone reads a book is to ban it.

Using that same logic, the best way for a celebrity to become even more famous is to cancel them.

But, by cancelling history, the real objective is to groom kids into being on the far-right. How can you feel sympathy for others when they are clearly lying about their tragedies just to make the "real Americans" look bad?

Going after Joe Rogan when cancel culture was already going out of vogue is like Stannis trying to attack anyway with half an army.

As cancel culture loses steam on the left, it is gaining steam on the right. Anyone who dares speak out against Trump is getting tossed out of the party.

Though their desire to cancel history is more disturbing. As well as their desire to cancel certain people's right to vote. And of course democracy itself is on the cancellation table if they don't like the result of an election.
