Weekend 33/21
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/21/DTop21AUG12.htmSummer heat melted away the b.o. - especially family movies dropped up to 70 %... Real No. 2 would have been PAW PATROL with astonishing previews, movie opens this Thursday...

Looks like PAW PATROL will deliver the third biggest opening (admissions) since the Corona-mess started...

Weekend 34/21
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/21/DTop21AUG19.htmSo PAW PATROL did even better than expected (still the third biggest Covid opening though, but much closer to TENET's opening)... A rainy Sunday saved the box office this weekend...

Weekend 35/21
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/21/DTop21AUG26.htmAfter a great opening PAW PATROL increases a little bit thanks to lousy weather all weekend long... Next weekend: Some promising openings, but warm and sunny weather will depress the b.o. quite a bit...

Weekend 36/21
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/21/DTop21SEP2.htmAs expected, Summer hit the b.o. hard (family movies dropped some 70 %), but SHANG-CHI and AFTER WE FELL still managed the 5th and 7th biggest opening weekend of the year...

Weekend 37/21
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/21/DTop21SEP9.htmSHANG-CHI drops just 11 % while openers disappoint... DUNE starts Wednesday, pre-sales are looking good in large cities, not so much in the country side... And pre-sales for 007 two weeks later look very encouraging...

So Shang Chi didn't open as big as I initially thought. Good to see it holding well though.

Weekend 38/21
http://www.insidekino.de/DTop10/21/DTop21SEP16.htmDUNE did well and probably will have a good hold next weekend, as only two minor openers dared to be sandwiched between DUNE and Bond...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Admissions in the third quarter will be up 230 % compared to 2020, but down 33 % compared to the average third quarter from 2010-2019...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Seems pretty decent to me, since the third quarter there is the first to be back to full capacity, right?
What has been the share of local revenue/admissions versus imported revenue/admissions in Germany in recent years (or the last decade)?

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Yes, most theaters re-opened July 1st...
Considering that most theaters are still on 30-50 % capacity (depending on state), it is indeed decent. On the other hand we had an unusual rainy summer, that has helped as well...
German market share (admissions):
2020: 35.1 % 2019: 21.5 % 2018: 23.5 % 2017: 23.9 % 2016: 22.7 % 2015: 27.5 % 2014: 26.7 % 2013: 26.2 % 2012: 18.1 % 2011: 21.8 % 2010: 16.8 %

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
2020 aside (presumably from many Hollywood films being delayed/not released in theaters), talk about consistency!
