It is a tough weekend to predict, let's wait and see how the numbers will truly unfold... Going into Sunday it now looks like (PETER RABBIT 2 (130,000), GvsK (120,000), CATWEAZLE (115,000) and CONJURING 3 (105,000). On its way to become the biggest pandemic b.o. weekend (previously weekend 36/20)...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Looks like BLACK WIDOW will deliver the third biggest Corona opening with around 175,000 admissions ($2m), despite being boycotted by many theaters (BW opened in just 270 theaters, 550-700 would be normal for a movie like this)...

Few Qs What are THU numbers? Do you get daily numbers and based on them give trends? What is the usual trend in Germany. Is SUN similar to SAT like France and Italy or drops like USA, UK, etc.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
It's much more complicated than that...
Saturdays are bigger than Sundays for regular movies Sundays are bigger than Saturdays for family entertainment.
But all the rules can be thrown out because of weather. Sunny and warm weather will make movies drop 50-80 %. So a movie can make more on a rainy Thursday than on a sunny Saturday or Sunday... When I do my trends based on daily sales I always have to factor in weather and other stuff like school vacations or holidays...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
That is quite good considering the small release. Germany anyway is not a big market for Marvel movies(minus Avengers).

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Agreed with a smaller theater count as mark mentioned that's a great opening.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
So F&F9 should deliver the biggest pandemic opening with 475,000 admissions including previews ($5.3m). BW is cut in half...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Hmm F9 seems to be doing much better in European countries than BW possibly because of D+

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
BTW, in case you're wondering... The flooding affects about 1-2 % of German screens... Some are pretty damaged, others are just without power or roads to travel...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Tenet was the second one I guess. I don't think Greenland got enough people even if it was number #1 for a lot more weekend (than it ought to be).

Yes, TENET is at 1.67m admissions, AFTER WE COLLIDED came pretty close with 0.94m...
