The Suicide Squad - 42 Shang-Chi - 85 (70 if it goes to PA) Venom 2 - 75 Eternals - 85 Spider-Man 3 - 140

Suicide Squad feels like a Birds of Prey level bomb to me.

Re: 2021 Superhero box office discussion
It would've done 60m+ I think in regular times. I think just having James Gunn in general helps and I bet it'll get decent reviews. The marketing has been weak but even with HBO Max it should open above Birds of Prey at least.

I’m way more hyped for the Peacemaker show than this movie. Jody Hill (Observe and Report, Eastbound and Down) + John Cena is gonna be awesome.

If there were no at-home option, the opening weekend gross may have been in the range of $110M to $120M.

- Gitesh, BoxofficeGuru I agree with this. Even if you take only $30m from US for PA that's additional $50m-$60m which would be good enough to get it past $100m OW.

Which would mean it sold better than Ant-man and Dr Strange which were pre-pandemic. Good indicators of a recovering domestic economy.

The Suicide Squad - 65 Shang-Chi - 85 Venom 2 - 75 Eternals - 85 Spider-Man 3 - 130
Most interesting will be Shang seeing it opens on Labour Day weekend. Biggest film to open on Labour Day weekend ever.

Re: 2021 Superhero box office discussion
I think they are all interesting, and I'm hoping Spiderman explodes. The other 4 are so close together prediction wise I'm sure something will break out and something will do Shazam type numbers. I actually think Venom 2 and Suicide Squad will out open both Marvel films.
