Pretty much this.

One of the most underrated big blockbuster films of the past 20 years.

Fraser, Weicz and Hannah are all fantastic, hilarious humor, great action, awesome music, thrilling special effects, great pacing.

This movie is fucking awesome.

A+.

I've probably seen this movie over 20 times. It's such a blast. And The Mummy Returns is an OK follow up. I pretend that third movie doesn't exist though. I'd love to see this revisited with both Fraser and Weisz, they had great chemistry.

This is SO MUCH FUN. The world building, the mystery to all the action set pieces are done so good and the movie moves at brisk pace. Fraser and Weisz are great in this and its because of them that the underwritten love story works. It gets a little repetitive in the beginning and the finding the whole Hamunaptra part could have been with few more tweaks spending more time explaining what's Fraser's character was doing there in the first place.

Yep this one is a classic for me as well. I've always enjoyed it ever since I first saw it as a kid and its another film that I wish I had seen on a big screen in a theater. The set pieces in this are just great and Fraser and Weisz really do have fantastic chemistry in it. Arnold Vosloo is a lot of fun as the villain as well.

Brendan Fraser trending on Twitter reminded me of this fucking perfect, absolutely flawless masterpiece of a popcorn adventure film. It is actually a reminder of just how potent prime Fraser was - not only handsome and brawny but likable and hilarious. Brendan Fraser and Rachel Weicz in this film have to be one of the most likable film couples ever.

MAKE THE MUMMY 3! People would see it!

They did make the Mummy 3 lol. It had Jet Li as the villain, Maria Bello as Evie and it did OK at the box office.

If it wasn’t for the Tom Cruise reboot a few years ago I’d say we were overdue. Now they could probably wait for the 25 year anni and bring back the original cast, including Weisz this time.

Yeah that awful turd is best forgotten.

This one is meanwhile easily one of the best popcorn films of the past 25 years.

I just watched this again with my son. It holds up so well. It's still a blast as a mythical action adventure. John Hannah provides the laughs, Brendan Fraser the muscle, and Rachel Weisz the brains and beauty - she is so, so, so gorgeous in this. The CG doesn't hold up to today's standards, but it's still an excellent film - the effects are more a time capsule these days, so they still hold value, and it's not like they're bad. They're competent and charming. My son also loved it. He's never seen such heroism and "real" action before. Most of his exposure has been animated films or superhero ones. He said it was a bit scary in those early scenes when the mummy isn't fully formed yet, but I think it's good for him to see things that make it a memorable experience without scarring him for life.

just happened to notice this has a 61% on RT. I honestly think this would get like a 95% if it were released now—partly because it’s an excellent, entertaining action adventure, but also because I think reviews have become more populist / easy (and group thinky).

Watching this on TV right now and reminded how enormously popular I think a 1950s set MUMMY 3 featuring the original cast would be.

They should've used Mummy 4 to kickstart the Dark Universe.
