Re: Predict the next celebrity to get canceled!
Dr Seuss cancellation is sinister because it allows them to replace it with critical race theory children's books

Morgan Wallace just logged his 8th week at #1 on the albums chart. His career sure was ruined.
Now it seems like the Trump party sees a guy shouting the N word at people from his doorstep and says “that’s who I want to support.”

Re: Predict the next celebrity to get canceled!
I’m wondering what will happen to the WWE archives when it moves to peacock. They’ve censored black face on other shows, which doesn’t bode well for Roddy Piper, but how can they justify cutting anything else before Benoit? Those waters are very murky. I hope they just throw a Content Warning before most of it.

The King (Burger King).
This one is interesting though and is probably(?) getting blown up and/or taken out of context...maybe. Seeing them reply with a "defense" kind of makes it fishy and possibly intentional to get attention.
I get what they were going for, following the initial "Women belong in the kitchen." tweet, but what a poor choice of words and a terrible way to open a thread on "female representation in the food industry", citing that only 20% of chefs are women. If that's truly what they were trying to bring attention to, probably should have opened with that in detail...
It's International Women's Day. Tweeting that is welcoming social media suicide.

Pepe Lepew.
This is a surprising one considering they just neutered Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam. You’d think a similar thing would be done for Pepe.

That's fine. I've dealt with enough skunks this year.

We all get what they were going for, but it was a misguided way to do it.

Re: Cancellation of pop culture and celebrities thread
Mumford and Sons guitar player got cancelled for congratulating anti-ANTIFA journalist Andy Ngo on his book and is now "taking time away from the band" (could be cover for kicked out with dignity), also another who didn't realize all apologizing does is give them permission to devour you more, same with Burger King. People need to stop apologizing to a group that has no capability for forgiveness.

I’m still more offended that Mumford won album of the year over The Black Keys. I guess we should have seen this coming.

Re: Cancellation of pop culture and celebrities thread
This particular cancellation was most likely due to safety reasons. Antifa has a proven track record of violence and their death threats need to be taken seriously. The media don’t dare to criticize Antifa after what they did to the CNN building in Atlanta. Antifa violence against Andy Ngo and other Asian-Americans will continue to be tolerated as a warning against those whose relatives dared to flee from their communist countries for capitalist democracy in US.

Re: Cancellation of pop culture and celebrities thread
People like Ngo are a good canary in the coalmine, in a real authoritarian country he would probably be arrested by the government by now for pissing them off by exposing ANTIFA and BLM's violence. Atm he can still post on twitter and can still sell his book on Amazon so there is still some breathing room.

Re: Cancellation of pop culture and celebrities thread
So when given the choice between originally having a scene in Space Jam 2 of Pepe Le Pew getting creepy with someone and Lebron stepping in to tell him it's not cool and teach kids to respect women, or just cutting the scene in response to the recent cancellation, they chose the latter. I think we would be better off using it as an educational opportunity than just hiding from things.

Sharon Osbourne. Maybe could have gotten a "pass" over the Piers Morgan stuff, but probably not after these other comments about former co-hosts, agents, and such on The Talk...
