Alex Y. wrote: Very similar parallels to BLM what’s going on right now, Majority were peaceful protestors and kept on being encouraged by media and government, while a smaller percentage act violent, with you guys saying the peaceful protestors have no responsibility in stopping the violent actors.
Trump is actually acting differently than Democrats last summer, in telling the peaceful protestors to go home rather than encouraging them to continue to protest. No similar parallels at all. Even trying to compare this to BLM protests is idiocy and sad. BLM was protesting racial inequality. And the ones that got violent were arrested and held accountable via tear gas and rubber bullets, and forcibly so. Trump fucking told these un-American asses to attack the Capitol before they marched over there this morning. He's only now telling them to "go home" (yeah, no, they've invaded the U.S. Capitol). Trump and the domestic terrorists are attacking Democracy and the country, spitting on the graves of all the patriots that died to protest their freedoms. They're assholes. They're losers. They're not worthy of being U.S. citizens any longer.

Re: Democracy 2020 (President-elect Joseph R Biden Jr.)
Here’s my stance, regardless if the cause is BLM or preserving free and fair elections: * violent agitators, looters, property vandals should be punished to full extent of the law * peaceful protestors should not block law enforcement from stopping violent agitators and looters and property vandals, if they harbor the criminals they are then complicit * peaceful protestors should obey curfew orders and only gather where they have obtained legal permits
Unfortunately some people think violent criminal acts are ok if the cause is “woke”, rather than always be against them regardless of whose side they’re on.

Conspiracist theories that 25th amendment was secretly invoked, thus giving Pence the authority the authority to order the National Guard there, which a VP had no authority to do. If it did happen, I don’t think will be revealed for awhile to prevent rioting.

Just in absolute shock. Learn the right lessons. It is ok to be conservative, ok to be Republican, it is never OK for people in leadership positions from any party to conduct themselves in ways that motivate other people to behave in this manner.

"What's the worst that could happen from humoring him?" - anonymous GOP source when Trump refused to concede.
Hopefully people figure this out.

A coup into the capital has never happened like this in the history of our country. Trump must be shitting his pants right now.
Joe Biden will be the 47th president of the US after all.

It's not an apples to apples comparison so there is bound to be some who have bigger reaction to one thing vs the other. Also I do not think ANYONE in this forum had this big of a reaction back then (still I remember everyone agreeing that it wasn't right) so this is a moot point.

Joe Biden will be the 47th president of the US after all. This was never in doubt regardless of what Shack hoped for.

Let people riot and destroy things (maybe even threaten or kill officials in the process) ? Very surprising view point given your statements about riots earlier.

Re: Democracy 2020 (President-elect Joseph R Biden Jr.)
And despite this being the first time anyone has breached the U.S. Capitol since the War of 1812 with a foreign adversary, much less a domestic one, Congress (including Pence) is going to proceed with Democracy and fulfil their duties at 8PM tonight. And they'll likely finish before 6AM.
Trump coming out and saying he loves these people, the people who just attacked and broke into the U.S. Capitol and has so far involved someone being declared dead now and multiple officers injured, should just further convince Pence and his cabinet to step in and remove the traitor.
Trump has been scared shitless about the legal consequences he was going to face already, perhaps the biggest cause of him snapping and losing his mind over the last couple of weeks, but now? After inciting this insurrection play that he's come out saying he loved? He's really, really in for it now.

And thankfully Twitter is finally deleting his tweets.
And Youtube and Facebook removed his disturbing video.

The violence was probably ANTIFA dressed as MAGA, with the goal being to blame it on Trump after. However unless it was on purpose, Trump is stupid for advertising the Jan 6th so much, it was asking for ANTIFA to do this.

For those thinking they have a checkmate on those opposing the riots and protests today: protesting social injustice and being a sore loser are two drastically different things.

I’ve heard the theory that this was started by Antifa and this was actually an Antifa plot. I’d expect that from Shack.
