Sixers are on a tear ... Larry Brown tends to lose teams after a few years, and Detroit has been showing signs of drifting from him.

I pick the Sixers in an Upset.

Either the Shaqless Heat or the Pistons are losing in round 1 ... could be either.

I love that people are once again underestimating the Pistons. They're the Rodney Dangerfield of the NBA.

And, what evidence do you have they're drifting from Larry Brown, Eagle? The only time they played mediocre in the last 2/3 of the season was when Brown was out with his hip problems and they played .500 ball. Their record this year is better than last, and last year they did not even take their division (Indiana did). They finished really strong this year winning 11 of their last 12 and have one of the best records since the All Star Break. That hardly suggests that Brown is losing them.

Besides Eagle and I, who else is underestimating them? I only picked the 76ers because I would like to see them beat Detriot. Do I think it's actually going to happen? Probably not, but who knows?

See it sucks. The Pistons are the one team I did NOT want to face. I think we are the third best team in the east, but detroit matches up UBER well against us. It is bad, I know it is, but LET ME THINK WE ARE GOING TO WIN.

I was generalizing as I'm not aware of any analyst picking them to win. The USA Today guy is one of the few picking them to go to the finals, but lose to the Spurs.

The fact that they are the defending champions, play very well in crunch time, single-handedly destroyed the Lakers franchise last year, and frequently make good teams look lousy should count for something... but, it doesn't. They get very little respect.

Heck, you guys are even picking them to lose in the first round to a team that barely made the playoffs. They have the second best record in the East and are the defending champions, and you guys think they will lose to a team that came two games away from missing the playoffs altogether? Couple that with the fact that almost no national analyst is predicting them to win, and if that isn't a team that gets no respect, I don't know what is.

Let me expand on what I said up above. I do think that the Pistons are going to get past the first round. I do think they will go to the Eastern Conference Finals (Which would mean they would have to beat my Celtics, but I know they're the better team). Do I think they will beat the Heat? I don't know, but it should make for a good series. However, would I like to see that happen? Of course not, because I am a Celtics fan and I know the Pistons are good, and I do not want to face them. I would also like to see that upset happen in the first round. That's the only reason why I picked it to happen. I don't think it's actually going to happen though.

Out of the six of them, two of them having the Pistons winning the whole thing while the other guys have the Spurs winning the whole thing. Two more of them have the Pistons making it back to the Finals but losing. I think they're getting plenty of respect.

You must not be watching many 'experts'. From what I have seen everyone is drooling over the damn Pistons. Just go look at ESPN .. namely the article between Neel and Scoop.

What is his injury and how long will he be out?

Will that mean trouble as Kidd and Carter are playing pretty good for the Nets?

Doesn't sound like he will miss the whole series.

*Shaquille O'Neal is still hurting, and it's uncertain if the Miami Heat's center will be ready for the beginning of his team's Eastern Conference quarterfinals against the New Jersey Nets.

O'Neal, who missed the Heat's final two regular-season games because of a deep right thigh bruise, did not practice Friday. He wore practice attire and low-cut sneakers with no socks and watched the workout from the sideline, but did not have a noticeable limp when he walked.
