 Re: Avengers: Endgame 300 million+ opening weekend club I can't believe these numbers being thrown around are possible, much less plausible. It's mind boggling. I remember shitting my pants in 2001 when Harry Potter opened to $90m. (and then the next year spontaneously ejaculating when Spider-man hit $114m). Fuckin nuts to be talking $300m in a "weekend." Would be very cool if Endgame's opening weekend matched the runaway success total gross of the first Marvel movie: Iron Man's $318m would be the target.

Re: Avengers: Endgame 300 million+ opening weekend club I don't think this is hitting $300 million, that is a huge increase over Infinity War's already nuts gross. I will say - this is where simply tracking admissions in terms of dollars would help a lot.
If you add in 3D and inflation, $280 is just the next step up in the long line of comic blockbusters pushing the limits.

If it increase by the same % that TFA did over JW or that Avengers did over Potter 7 (or as per any of the previous three record breakers) it will well and truly clear $300m.

pretty epic friday, 5 less confirmed sellouts than the thursday previews while also have nearly 25 more showings.
