I'm waiting to see how many screens theaters put this on. a 16 screen theater near me had IW on 9 out of 16 screens. i mean this should be bigger and with the runtime, equals more screens, right?

Longer runtime might mean more screens but about the same or less showtimes.

Okay there is litetally a wait room on Fandango to buy tickets. Insane.

Almost 3 hours later, still not able to buy tickets.

I managed to get tickets through AMC app & Fandango for Thursday (6pm),Friday(9pm) & Saturday (3pm IMAX).
Thank god I woke up early this morning or I would’ve missed my chance. Website crashing & selling out fast. Even with the 3 hours run time it’s got great shot at beating IW record.

Damn am I lucky that I woke up at 5:00 AM. I had no real problems getting my tickets for a 6:00 showing on Thursday, but then the site just crashes 5 minutes later. I don't see how this doesn't top IW OW at this point. There was nowhere near this much upfront demand for IW when those tickets went on sale in advance. 3 hours or not theaters are going to make sure that this is playing on as many screens as possible.

I can buy tickets for some movie called 'Internal Server Error'.

Avengers: Endgame has sold three times more tickets on Atom in the first hour of pre-sales than Avengers: Infinity War did last year.

Could take down Avatar WW if it becomes a juggernaut and takes down TFA domestic and 4B Yuan in China. Improbable but not impossible. Hype is off the charts for sure.

Avatar WW is out of reach. These movies are frontloaded even in OS markets. IW didn't reach $700m domestic so with a bigger opening that's the target domestically and even with China it's not reaching $2b OS.

Beating Force Awakens is pretty crazy considering when Rogue One is above Infinity War you know Star Wars fans don't fuck around (Or didn't, RIP Star Wars mystique)

Generally when something becomes a juggernaut all rules are broken. It needs something special to have record OW and good legs. This could be a perfect storm for Marvel.

I dont think it will be more front loaded (unless its under par). I actually think matching IW's multiplier is about right so $300/789m looks about right.

This is really the biggest event since TFA and the culmination of over a decade of build-up. It's must see and i'ts exploding.

It's not beating Avatar. Don't be silly. This franchise is good for openings, but it can never be sustained. Don't get carried away by pre-sale figures.

You do realize that the record was broken last year by this movie's prequel right? The franchise has become big over OW doesn't mean it will break rules. I don't think it has potential to grow more audience from last movie though more people might check it out again which is why the bigger OW and thus bigger total. If it reaches $780m that's already a HUGE $100m increase from the prequel just an year back.

I feel this is more of a must watch than even IW considering its the FINALE of dozen years of build up. If they kill few main characters(Cap or IM) then potential for better than norm legs will happen.

It will need 90% RT and A+ Cinemascore as well. All this is improbable but not impossible.

I agree on the must watch factor though more money than last one would mean better legs which will mostly mean repeat viewings as its not going to grow audience after what 20+ entries. Also they played the card of decade worth of build up last time as well that's why its not present in marketing this time, regardless that factor is only going to impact OW. I just don't see how it does more than $800m (and that's not my prediction) at this point.

Also $1.9b-$2b OS which is what it likely needs to beat Avatar is not going to happen, I just don't see a $550m+ increase in OS markets from last year when the exchange rates (as some have mentioned in the OS thread) are worse

Right now I have an 11pm 3D showing. Hoping they add more shows, but its better than nothing. Is there any reason why theaters couldn’t put it on every screen?
