For Americans, everything is a truck. Truck, pickup truck, ice-cream truck, garbage truck, etc. It feels like Merkinglish is the language of toddlers, unable to grasp more words, so they just label everything the same. Fucking Yankee Neanderthals.

I tell you what annoys me; people that are always hammering on about their "rights". As if it gives them a magical and invincible cloak. I wish these people would understand that the only right they have is to the law of physics and biology, and not wishy-washy assertions that another human has declared for them. If you come out on top because of this, then good. But if not, let it go. Your path will just be a more difficult one, and you'd better get started. No point arguing rights, because you're losing valuable time getting that head start that you'll need.

Idiots that use "of" when they meant "have". Drives me crazy.

Are you referring to might of? They’re probably saying might’ve

Probably not when it's written on Facebook comments as "could of".

They should type "could've" then. My pet peeve isn't with what they mean. It's with what they type.
I don't think this is a pet peeve of mine, but I just find it a bit odd thinking about it and I wonder where it came form:
Why do you people say: "Oh, you're meeting with John, tell him I said hi."
How did this greeting someone through someone else became a thing?

Re: Pet Peeves
It's a conversational aid, in my opinion. So when you do meet John, you can say "Oh by the way, Susie says hi"...."Oh wow, how is Susie? not seen her for years" ... "Susie's good. She's been promoted to Office Manager now" ... "wow, she's doing well for herself"... and so on and so forth. It also only usually happens when you haven't seen someone for a while. You don't do it with regular mates that you can just say hi to on Skype any day.
Yeah, that sounds pretty true. I feel I find myself guilty of using it too, and I guess it's about making that other person know, "hey, im thinking about you". Still i find it a curious habit, and I also feel that people are sometimes asking like, "did he/ she say hi, when you mentioned me?", not sure, maybe im just imagining it whether people ever give this any thought or not.

Re: Pet Peeves
I rarely (like, 1 time out of 100) ever say hi to the person if I am asked to, even though I do say "okay" to when people ask me to say hi to people. I would say most "hi" requests stop right there.

There are many meanings to it. But trust me it is beneficial. Then if the person in question doesn't contact you can contact them and say "Oh I spoke to so and so and they would say something"
It's what they call an anti ice-breaker. And it can be annoying to the person. I personally never do it unless I know the person has a fluent relationship with someone. I personally would much rather be in contact with the other person and do it myself, in which case I would ask for contact info. But I know people that use it to a science.
Though some people do actually mean it.

People who laugh hardest at the joke everyone has seen in the trailer/TV spot.
Isn't that verging on major peeve/problem with society? I'm no dog lover either. I hate the hair that comes with it and the smell. But I wouldn't call it a pet peeve. It's a lifestyle choice.

I meant when you walk past them on the street. But yea it's probably not a pet peeve. Unless you mean literally a pet peeve.

Appreciate that explanation.

People that say "A-SAP" instead of "A.S.A.P".
I'd love to do this, well at least it's how I replay it in my mind when writing "asap" (exactly like that without caps, because I want to say "as soon as possible", but not really make it a very pressing matter, if it is then I'll just write it in full, I hardly ever use "ASAP/ A.S.A.P.").

If it's not a pressing matter, then just don't say "ASAP" at all. Just say "whenever you're free".
