Make American Horror Story Great Again
Apparently season 7 is going to be about "our most recent election." I've never seen this show, but it seems like he's trying to recreate the OJ magic of Crime Story. And I'm definitely into that lol.
Paulson is Hilary obviously. Gaga is Kelly Anne. Who plays Trump?

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
Depends on how it's handled. Something like this needs to be subtle, not an outright satire, especially for a horror show.

I don't understand. I've never watched this show. Is it supposed to be actually scary? Or just funny?

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
It is a human drama with elements of horror and camp imo. It's not really the type of horror where scaring you is the point nor a real comedy. Personally I find it to be a more emotionally rich and complex series about damaged souls than given credit for by critics. Whereas a lot of people watch it just for the batshitness entertainment value. I guess people emotionally connect to different shows. I find American Horror Story and The Walking Dead to care about their characters emotionally more than Game of Thrones does, but obviously the amount of people who only connected to the latter of those three can help prove that otherwise

This show has sadly jumped the shark. Hopefully he's joking about the premise.

Looks like it will just be an allegory and won't have the literal Trump and Clinton characters. Boo. BOO.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
I thought the first episode was good. I actually liked it better than last season's premiere.
But this is the second year in a row where AHS is utilizing a current horror movie to grab viewers. Last year we had a haunted house themed season premiere while The Conjuring 2 was pretty fresh and doing great. Now we have killer clowns while It is about to premiere in theaters. I wonder what New Line horror movie on Sept 7th 2018 is about. Wouldn't be surprised to see AHS going for something thematically similar again.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
I was not a fan of the premiere. I found it rather annoying. Sarah Paulson was actually too over-the-top for my taste. I'll keep watching though, I adore Billie Lourd. I hope Colton Haynes dies first He's obnoxious.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
I had no interest in this show since Freak Show, but I was curious about this season, so I watched the premiere and honestly I can't say I was that impressed. It feels way too easy for some reason even though I actually don't mind them using current horror movie trends. I definitely want to see how it progresses from here, but my expectations aren't very high.

I was afraid of this. The idea of her character's fear of clowns being triggered by election night or something like that is . I hate how it's going to make liberals look crazy. I do love Paulson though and haven't checked out the premiere yet. Ratings are down: http://deadline.com/2017/09/american-ho ... 202163266/

They will make everyone seem crazy no matter the political preference I think. There's a scene in the premiere where Paulson voices concern for her maid because she doesn't know if she got deported or if she is too scared to go out and work. It definitely read like a liberal being a hypocrite behind a thin veil of concern towards another human being.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
To think I almost wasn't going to watch this season. Decided to give the premiere a watch today and am really, really glad I did. This season is a ton of fun. I'm now all caught up and really looking forward to the next episode. Honestly as of now this is one of the best seasons. It's not scary (I personally haven't found any of the seasons scary but this one isn't even trying to be) but it's massively entertaining. It's also pretty funny.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
I don't think it's particularly good, but this season has been entertaining so far. I'm enjoying the dark, satirical humor, especially with the Evan Peters character.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
This season is a goddamn mess.
Maybe even worse than "Freak Show."
At least Emma Roberts was in the last episode. But I find Billy Eichner so miscast.

I don't know. I think it's awesome. This week's episode was great too. Things are really coming together nicely and it's getting better and better.

Re: Make American Horror Story Great Again
Yeah, it's crazy how much the season has improved from a shaky concept. I'm really digging it so far. Roanoke was my first full AHS season, and while I enjoyed parts of it, the whole thing was a mess, especially the shit finale.
I don't find Billy Eichner miscast at all. He's surprising me so far. And it was nice seeing Emma Roberts in what I figured would be a single guest appearance.
