 Nationals!
It's the opening day for the Nationals today, and I'm feeling the fever.
My area *finally* has their own team. I'm so happy.
No more rooting for the Orioles for me.

If they are anything like the Expos, they'll serve as a good minor league team for my Yankees.

Livan is pitching a 1-hitter with his efficient wildness. With the win, Nationals could be leading NL East all by themselves.

Correction... everyone's Yankees.
Seriously, is there another team in baseball? You wouldn't know it by walking into any sports memorabilia store.

I taint no bandwagon fan!
I'm actually a big fan of Mike Mussina's. When he played for the Baltimore Orioles I was a huge Baltimore fan. When he switched to the Yankees, I became a Yankees fan. When your closest team is the Detroit Tigers, you have to find somebody else to root for!

It is quite interesting to hear about your little crush on Mike Mussina. Please tell us more.

Just because the Tigers suck doesn't mean you can't support them! I supported the Blue Jays countless seasons even when they sucked so hard.

Bandwagon haters are even worse. Why don't you tell us all again how George was buying the world series when he brought in Raul "Babe Ruth" Mondesi and Jeff "Cy Young" Weaver like you did over at BOM. #-o Typical trained seal response... What you bandwagon haters are clueless about, is that the Yankees SUCKED throughout most of the 80's and early part of the 90's. They've only been perennial contenders to the bandwagon hating fans who need to educate themselves on Yankee history a little better.
As somebody who supports education, here is my contribution toward helping you get your Yankee facts strait before you ever start throwing the bandwagon word at me.

Not really. And I dont recall ever talking about Raul Mondesi or Jeff Weaver. But anyway, if you're a Yankees fan, fine, but if you're a Yankees fan cause they are constant winners over the last decade, that's bad. Take Jack Nicholson for instance... Die hard Lakers fan AND a die hard Yankees fan. How did that happen!? I like fans who support their team through thick and thin, not someone who gives up and goes somewhere else once their team sucks.
I respect you Maverikk, cause you're a real Yankees fan. I dont see how you cannot think bandwagon fans are bad. They have no loyalty. And by the way, Maverikk, in case you forgot, "Bandwagon fans" do not = "Yankees fans." When I take a shot at bandwagon fans, Im not taking a shot at the Yankees, im taking a shot at bandwagon fans.
Wow! The Yankees have 26 world series. That's like, almost 1/4th of them! That's amazing!

Squee, I was just giving you a hard time. I wasn't serious. I don't care for those bandwagon jumpers either. They think Don Mattingly is just a coach, for crying out loud, and have no idea how great a player he was before his back went.
They don't know of the Jesse Barfield and Mel Hall days that kept the Yanks watching all the other team (except the Indians) winning the East. (for those who don't know, the Central divisions were introduced in 1994, so the Indians and Tigers used to be a part of the East) It was hell being a Yankee fan for years and years, and it truthfully does get aggrivating having to deal with bandwagon jumpers from both camps. Those who only started following the team since the started this latest dynasty, and those who treat the Yankees as if they haven't ever gone through there own bad times, because they have, and it could go back to that soon enough. Lots of teams throw millions of dollars away on a payroll and still suck. They yanks have just been able to make shrewd deals and have done some good scouting. It still hasn't won them anything for several years now. Last year was the WORST!!!

So THAT'S why I didnt remember talking about Jeff Weaver and Raul mondesi! It was a joke!!! But I WILL now. Goddamn Raul Mondesi basically guaranteed them the world series ring!!!!!!

Guess where I was yesterday...
Seriously, though. I'd still be an Orioles fan had it not been for Angelos. I have respect for Steinbrenner (sp?) even though I hate the franchise. He's loaded with money but at least he uses some of it on his team. Only recently has Angelos started doing that. Regardless, his little fits irritated me. I'm pretty sure the Senators were in town before the Orioles and I doubt the owner then (if my fact is right) reacted like Angelos did.

It's so nice to have a team in Washington again! Everything is looking up for the city of DC, with the Wizards doing so well and now their own baseball team! I went to a game a few weeks ago and everyone was so excited, already had their own Nationals gear on and everything! Great experience and RFK looked soooooo nice to be as old as it is!

I went to see them play the Marlins a few weeks ago. I think I jinxed them tho, coming in they had won 5 in a row and I go and they lost like 9-3!! Got to see Dontrelle Willis pitch tho, what a hoss he is.

I'd go to alot more games if I was a tad bit closer. It's about a 2 hour trip into the city for me, after riding the metro for about an hour.
