 "Divorce" (Season 1)
Has anyone else been watching this? It's one of the best shows of the year and one of the highlights of the fall for me. I think it's absolutely biting and hilarious while also feeling incredibly authentic. Sarah Jessica Parker, Talia Balsam and Molly Shannon are all fantastic but Thomas Haden Church is completely stealing the show for me. I'm very glad it was renewed for a second season.

 Re: "Divorce" (Season 1)
Are the ratings strong? I feel it has flown well under the radar considering it is Sarah Jessica Parker's return to television comedy-drama and HBO. Almost strikes me as one HBO might renew-then-cancel the way they did The Brink and Vinyl.
But I am interested in watching it.

I watched the first six episodes this afternoon with my boyfriend and we are both enjoying it quite a bit. It's very funny. The counseling episode was absolutely hilarious ("YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE GOING DOWN TO GIVE THE FIRST RESPONDERS WATER!").

But I am interested in watching it. It is great and very different overall from "Sex and the City." It's a lot darker. And I think it hasn't done outstanding but it's done OK. I doubt HBO will pull that move as this has a bit more critical acclaim and I doubt they'd do that to Sarah Jessica Parker as she's been a huge face of their network and spent four years developing this show.

What works in Divorce's favour is that it's probably a cheap series to make as it's not a period piece, it's regular drama etc.

 Re: "Divorce" (Season 1)
Vinyl had strong reviews for its pilot but all of the write-ups after it premiered were incredibly negative from what I remember. This seems to be doing a bit better in that regard. It has definitely improved since the pilot.
And I agree, it shoots in like Westchester right outside of NYC where Sarah Jessica Parker is based anyway, I'm sure the majority of the budget is going to her salary and THC's salary.

This is the first link that comes up in news when I write Divorce TV show on Google: Sarah Jessica Parker’s Frances makes for an uncompelling lead on DivorceDoesn't seem like it's getting any better reviews as time goes by. And also the ones that don't like the show (any show) drop the write up eventually so as the show goes on only those who liked it from the start remain.

That exact website has been covering the show from the beginning and several episodes have gotten A's from them - this is the only episode that's gotten below a B.

Excellent season finale. I can't believe what Robert did.
