Idol Fever continues! Still surprised by House. Both House and 24 have some amazing accomplishments this season, as House has retained more audience from Idol than any other FOX series and probably has the best chance at making it without American Idol, and 24 is pulling in great numbers, even without Idol as its lead-in.

Boo hiss.
Also, you need to watch The Amazing Race. Best reality hour on TV.

And you need to copy and paste a review.
I'm sorry about dissing The Office. I didn't know you liked it THAT much.
Maybe I'll check out The Amazing Race, although I'm very guarded on my TV time unless it's Sportscenter, so only something totally amazing could hook me, unless it's Sunday primetime or late night for the most part.

#-o I'd have never guessed.
Although, I probably wouldn't have said that about American Idol if I wasn't a little bitter. :-#

Well...
NBC currently has four comedies on the air, and The Office is the lowest-rated one.
How is that doing alright?

Well I saw some of The Office last night, and it was actually really damn funny, though I think I'll just rent the British show on DVD.

Why do so few Americans watch the marvellous Scrubs?
While I'm asking, why do so many Americans watch According to Jim, King Of Queens, Everybody Loves Raymond and all the countless other crappy, identikit sitcoms?

Can't answer you there. I think The King of Queens is occasionally cute, but According to Jim and Everybody Loves Raymond are awful for me.
I like Scrubs but I never seem to get around to watching it. I really need a TiVo.

Yeah, I always like it but Tuesday at 9 I always have something or another going on. I liked Zach Braff even before Garden State, but have tons more juice for him now. While I'm bummed that he's already going to be doing voices for Disney cartoons, "The Last Kiss" (his next movie) sounds pretty promising, and stars Jacinda Barret, who I've been a big fan of ever since I saw Ladder 49.

Why do Britonians always bitch about what Americans watch and how we vote on American Idol? Are you guys simply jealous because you can't speak proper English yet? You never see us Americans ask why the British invented crap like Benny Hill.
You lost the war. Move on with your lives. I'm sorry that was harsh, but it had to be said.

As tvtracker had commented, ABC really needs to trim down on their 2 hour blocks of comedy.
I think maybe having comedies for an hour at 8 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays are a great idea.
Then they can start building on solid hours of drama from 9-11.
I don't understand why they don't bring back the Mole. ABC is the only network that doesn't have a competitive reality show like Survivor, Amazing Race, Apprentice, or American Idol. the Mole did pretty good when it was and even the celebrity ones did pretty damn good for the 18-49 demographic from what I remember.
The Mole and SuperNanny/Howd they do that on Monday (cancel Bachelor and get rid of either Supernanny or Howd they do that, keep the stronger one)
Boston Legal on Tuesdays along with another new drama or keep Blind Justice (maybe move BJ to 9pm)
LOST, ALIAS, and another J.J. Abrams show on Wednesdays (he does have one in works
Primetime and another drama on Thursdays.
Then either get a kid/teenage friendly 2 hour block of coemdies for Friday or just a regular hour and another drama before 20/20.
And of course Home Makeover/Housewives/Anatomy on Sundays

Speaking for myself it comes across as smug and overly self referential and the leading man is annoying.
The Office however, is shaping up to be the funniest show on US TV if it keeps it up.

Oh my god! Me too! I thought she was the best thing about LADDER 49 and really liked her in it. Then I saw her in BRIDGET JONES 2 and absolutely adored her even more! I was wishing Bridget would say the hell with the two loser men in her life and hook up with her. Now that would have kicked ass! I knew it wouldn't happen though. Still, what a cutie! She is adorable. I'm really looking forward to seeing her in THE LAST KISS. I was actually really disappointed when Rachel McAdams wasn't going to be in it anymore, but since they're getting Barrett, another actress I'm loving right now, I don't care anymore.

Nobody makes me guffaw at my computer screen like you, Tony. Nobody.
Having said that, what the hell is American Idol?
And who the hell is Benny Hill?!

You're asking a good one there. Thank God Scrubs is already renewed for next season, so maybe NBC can give another crack at killing it off, before it ends prematurely. Damn, I hate NBC. If it wasn't for The Apprentice, Scrubs may be on Thursdays, and probably getting decent ratings.
As for the rest, King of Queens is occasionally all right, but I can't say it's funny. According to Jim may be the worst comedy on television. If this ever becomes a TV classic, I'll shoot myself. Everybody Loves Raymond is just plain sad. The show only produces about 11 minutes of an episode every week, the rest is filled in by the audience going nuts over something a character says or does. I think to myself "Yeah, that was all right... nothing special." People at home hear that non-stop laughing from the live studio audience, and think they're watching the greatest sitcom ever. That's the only plausible reason why a mediocre "comedy" is considered a classic.

Well, Zach Braff's only contracted for 5 seasons, so next season's probably going to be the last one regardless. I doubt he'll be too eager to come back unless a hefty pay-rise is in order, which is unlikely to happen because of the low ratings. Who'll be the true victims of the show's axing? The viewing audience, that's who!
And Sarah Chalke.
Everybody Loves Raymond's success is a true enigma to me. I always assumed it was just a cultural thing. Like, you have to be American to really "get it".

If I have to be an American to get "Everybody Loves Raymond", then I'm glad I'm not American.

Yes, Dear is easily worse. That show is stunningly awful, yet has somehow managed to make it to over 100 episodes.
It kills me that 8 Simple Rules and others are never recognized while these generic "fat, smug guy with hot wife" sitcoms are on the air everywhere.

I did some looking around and VERONICA MARS had 2.31 Million viewers for this week's episode.
