What's making you guys go low on this? Don't Madea comedies do well with their audience? I thought they usually get As.

I feel they're generally not good films at the same time, and I'm guessing it will catch up this time.

Catch up from the same loyal audience that keeps giving it As? Unlikely. But we'll see.

I just feel like the other Madea movies are grounded in reality and less silly. This may turn off some Madea fans so they won't like this one as much.

Who's to judge if a movie is a "good film" if not its audience?

That's the same type of snobbery (in this case mixed with a dash of racism for good measure ;) ) that often keeps genre pictures (horror, comedy, action) from getting good reviews and awards.

I still think people being interviewed after a film are being overly positive about a film. I'm sure that a lot give it an A+ as well for a film they just like. The cinemascore doesn't work for me, but it's also hard to read.

Madea's films get around a 5/10 on IMDB which are essentially just audience reviews too. So that they are getting A's on cinemascore just makes no sense for me.

I agree with you on this point.

IMDb is a rat's nest made up of 10% movie lovers, 45% mindless fanboys and 45% trolls and haters. It has even less objective reality than CinemaScore.

What tree and a half said. People rate on IMDB without seeing movies. Same with user reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. CinemaScore polls people actually coming out of the theater that watched the movie. It's a much better indicator.

So the fanboys and trolls/ haters cancel each other out. I tend to find the average score on 90% of the films very relate-able to the reaction of an audience.

Based on the audience reactions today for Trolls, I'd be surprised if it got less than a solid A cinemascore. They were loving it. All three new ones were getting a lot of love, but Trolls stood out.
