The series stars Allison Tolman as Nan, Lucas Neff as Jason, Kirby Howell-Baptiste as Jenn, Barry Rothbart as Kevin and Mo Collins as Kim. Samm Hodges is the voice of Martin. IMAGINARY MARY — Alice (Jenna Elfman, “Dharma & Greg,” “Friends With Benefits,” “EDtv”) is a fiercely independent career woman whose life is turned upside-down when she meets the love of her life – a divorced father with three kids. The series is based on the book by Melinda Taub. “Still Star-Crossed” stars Wade Briggs (“Home and Away”) as Benvolio Montague, Anthony Head as Lord Silvestro Capulet, Zuleikha Robinson as Lady Guiliana Capulet, Lashana Lynch as Rosaline, Ebonee Noel as Livia, Sterling Sulieman as Prince Escalus, Medalion Rahimi as Princess Isabella, Grant Bowler as Damiano Montague, Susan Wooldridge as Nurse, Torrance Coombs as Paris and Dan Hildebrand as Friar Lawrence. Re: Upfronts: 2016
"Scandal" has been pushed to midseason. "The Catch," "Still Star-Crossed, Imaginary Mary," "Time After Time," and "Downward Dog" will all be premiering at midseason as well.
"When We Rise," the eight-part mini about the gay rights movement, will also be premiering in the spring.
LOL at the random as hell scheduling of the long-delayed second season of "Secrets and Lies."

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
I'll probably check out "Time After Time," "Notorious," "Conviction" for Hayley Atwell, "Still Star-Crossed" and "Designated Survivor."
Their new comedies all sound awful. Can we please stop with the slight variation on the "Modern Family" formula for like every single sitcom they have?

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
Weird that Thursday now contains a non-Shonda show, even if it's only because of Kerry Washington's pregnancy.
Definitely planning to check out Designated Survivor and Speechless in the fall. Conviction and Notorious...maybe.

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
I may watch the first few episodes of "Speechless" because I love Minnie Driver. But I'm sick of the same formula just being recycled "with a twist." I already have "The Goldbergs," "Modern Family" and "Fresh Off The Boat" on my schedule and while I love all three I feel like they recycle the same plotlines a lot.

The new ABC shows sound stupid. The sitcoms anyway. I'll check out Notorious for the cast. Love Piper Perabo.

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
ABC: I'm intrigued by the idea of Still Star-Crossed (plus it's got Anthony Head!), and Time After Time seems right up my alley (I'm a sucker for time travel shows with good premises; hopefully the execution will be good). Other than that... meh. Conviction sounds terrible to me and that makes me even more upset that Agent Carter got cancelled.
I do give them props on Speechless for casting a character with cerebral palsy with an actor who actually has cerebral palsy. It's always nice when disabled actors get a chance to shine in Hollywood. I'll at least check out the pilot.
CBS: I might try The Great Indoors, but honestly, I'm finding that I'm just not all that interested in modern sitcoms (there are some exceptions; Blackish and Dr. Ken come to mind).
As for their dramas... I am definitely willing to give the MacGyver reboot a try. I LOVE the old series; I've seen the entire thing. I love Richard Dean Anderson, and there aren't many actors I'd be interested in seeing fill his shoes. But I rather like Lucas Till, so will give him a chance.
With all these reboots going on and time travel being a popular deal right now, I keep crossing my fingers they'll finally do a Quantum Leap continuation. (or, hell, I'll be blasphemous and suggest a reboot - there's very little chance [like, nil] that Dean Stockwell would be able to take part in any kind of continuation of the story, and without Al, it just wouldn't be right; so I'd rather see it rebooted)

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
THE CW FALL 2015-16 SCHEDULEMONDAY 8 PM — Supergirl 9 PM — Jane The VIrgin TUESDAY 8 PM — The Flash 9 PM — NO TOMORROWWEDNESDAY 8 PM — Arrow 9 PM — FREQUENCYTHURSDAY 8 PM — Legends of Tomorrow 9 PM — Supernatural FRIDAY 8 PM — The Vampire Diaries 9 PM — Crazy Ex-Girlfriend 2016-17 SERIES DESCRIPTIONS NO TOMORROW— Evie Callahan (Tori Anderson), a risk-averse quality-control assessor, appreciates order. Whenever she’s making a list, “make a list” is both the first thing on it and the first thing crossed off. Such a regimented life has its drawbacks. Her on-again/off-again romance with the sweet, but soft-spoken Timothy (Jesse Rath) has sputtered out. Her career has stalled. Her boss, Deirdre (Amy Pietz), a petty tyrant with breath that could kill a plant, laughs off her ambitions. Then Evie meets charming, free-spirited Xavier Holliday (Joshua Sasse), and the attraction is immediate and electric. He brings a jolt of joyful, rollicking romance into her life. Xavier encourages Evie to carpe that diem, because it’s more fun that way and because, well, the apocalypse is, you know, nigh. He believes humankind has a mere eight months and twelve days until a runaway asteroid smacks us all into stardust. That’s why he made an Apocalyst – a tally of every last thing he wants to do before the world goes kaput. So with the help of her friends – Hank (Jonathan Langdon), a diehard conspiracy theorist, and Kareema (Sarayu Blue), a droll nihilist – Evie must decide whether Xavier is certifiable and whether that even matters, if being with him means living her life more fully. Based on the International Emmy-nominated Brazilian format from Grupo Globo, NO TOMORROW is a romantic comedy with the ultimate ticking clock. NO TOMORROW is from CBS Television Studios and Warner Bros. Television in association with Electus, with executive producers Corinne Brinkerhoff (“American Gothic,” “Jane The Virgin,” “The Good Wife”), Maggie Friedman (“Witches of East End”) and Ben Silverman (“Jane The Virgin,” “The Office”). FREQUENCY — PilotDetective Raimy Sullivan (Peyton List) has always wanted to prove that she is nothing like her father. In 1996, when Raimy was eight years old, NYPD Officer Frank Sullivan (Riley Smith) left Raimy and her mother, Julie (Devin Kelley), behind when he went deep undercover, got corrupted, and got himself killed. Or so the story has always gone. Few people knew about the secret undercover sting operation Frank was really charged with, led by Stan Moreno (Anthony Ruivivar), who has now risen to Deputy Chief of Police. Frank’s former partner, Lieutenant Satch Reyna (Mekhi Phifer), is now Raimy’s mentor and friend, and he has urged her to let go of the hurt and anger she still feels about Frank’s disappearance and death, but the old pain still lingers. Raimy can barely bring herself to discuss Frank, even with her devoted boyfriend, Daniel (Daniel Bonjour), or her childhood friend, Gordo (Lenny Jacobson). Now, twenty years later, Raimy is stunned when a voice suddenly crackles through her father’s old, long-broken ham radio – it’s Frank, somehow transmitting over the airwaves and through the decades from 1996. They’re both shocked and confused, but Raimy shakes Frank to the core when she warns him that the secret sting he is undertaking will lead to his death. Armed with that knowledge, Frank survives the attempt on his life. But changing history has dramatically affected Raimy’s life in the present – and there have been tragic consequences. Separated by twenty years, father and daughter have reunited on a frequency only they can hear, but can they rewrite the story of their lives without risking everyone they love? FREQUENCY is from Warner Bros. Television in association with Lin Pictures, with executive producers Jeremy Carver (“Supernatural”), Toby Emmerich (“The Notebook” feature film), John Rickard (“Horrible Bosses”), Dan Lin (“The LEGO™ Movie,” “Sherlock Holmes”) and Jennifer Gwartz (“Veronica Mars”). RIVERDALE — As a new school year begins, the town of Riverdale is reeling from the recent, tragic death of highschool golden boy Jason Blossom — and nothing feels the same… Archie Andrews (KJ Apa) is still the all-American teen, but the summer’s events made him realize that he wants topursue a career in music — not follow in his dad’s footsteps—despite the sudde nend of his forbidden relationship with Riverdale’s young music teacher, Ms.Grundy (Sarah Habel). Which means Archie doesn’t have anyone who will mentorhim — certainly not singer Josie McCoy (Ashleigh Murray), who is only focusedon her band, the soon-to-be-world-famous Pussycats. It’s all weighing heavily on Archie’s mind — as is his fractured friendship with budding writer and fellow classmate Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse). Meanwhile, girl-next-door Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart) is anxious to see her crush Archie after being away all summer, but she’s not quite ready to reveal her true feelings to him. And Betty’s nerves – which are hardly soothed by her overbearing mother Alice (Mädchen Amick) aren’t the only thing holding her back. When a new student,Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes), arrives in town from New York with her mother bHermione (Marisol Nichols), there’s an undeniable spark between her and Archie, even though Veronica doesn’t want to risk her new friendship with Betty bymaking a play for Archie. And then there’s Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch)…Riverdale’s Queen Bee is happy to stir up trouble amongst Archie, Betty, and Veronica, but Cheryl is keeping secrets of her own. What, exactly, is she hiding about the mysterious death of her twin brother, Jason? Riverdale may look like a quiet, sleepy town, but there are dangers in the shadows… Basedon the characters from Archie Comics, RIVERDALE is from Warner Bros. Televisionand CBS Television Studios, in association with Berlanti Productions, with executive producers Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (“Supergirl,” “Glee”), Greg Berlanti(“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”), SarahSchechter (“Arrow,” “The Flash,” “Supergirl,” “DC’s Legends of Tomorrow”) andJon Goldwater (Archie Comics). http://deadline.com/2016/05/the-cw-fall ... 201759334/"Riverdale," "The Originals," "iZombie," "The 100" and "Reign" will premiere later in the season (I'd guess summer 2017 for the latter).

Mark Pedowitz just said "they haven't decided" if this will be the last season of "The Vampire Diaires" I don't understand why these broadcast networks have been so reluctant to say anything is ending lately. It's so stupid. Especially for this show which needs to end.

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
Smart to leave Supergirl in the same time slot on Mondays. I watched Supergirl/Jane the Virgin back to back all last season and now I don't even have to change the channel.
It seems insane they gave the Tuesday @ 9 slot to No Tomorrow rather than Riverdale, though, which was by far the most buzzed of their pilots. Odd. Then again, considering CW renewed everything, they have a really deep bench.

The CW seems to really value acclaim by giving JtV a good lead in, renewing Crazy Ex and giving it a fall slot, and I think No Tomorrow has the best chance of its new shows to do well with critics/awards and they gave it the best slot

I'm bummed iZombie is held off for mid-season. Very long wait ahead. But at least Crazy Ex Girlfriend returns in the Fall. Love that show.
If Jane ends up being a reduced season I think when iZombie returns it should be after Supergirl.

I'd be shocked if "Jane" doesn't have a full 22-episode order.
If anything on the fall schedule is getting shortened orders it's "The Vampire Diaries," "Crazy Ex-Girlfirend," "Frequency" (which sounds like a dud) or "No Tomorrow."
"The Originals" and "Reign" will definitely have shortened orders.

 Re: Upfronts: 2016
I think Jane is safe for a 22-episode season. The first two seasons had them after premiering in the fall, and nothing has indicated anything is changing here. The Supergirl/Jane Monday lineup should stay intact through the spring.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the series need 88 episodes for syndication?

I think 88 is more of a guideline, having 80 or whatever shouldn't make much of a difference. Reign will likely end up in low 70s though

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the series need 88 episodes for syndication? Not really anymore. The CW seems comfortable with letting most shows go four seasons regardless of episode count - since they don't really have shows that are syndicated on television they care more about the digital package and deal they have with Netflix. "Hart of Dixie" had 76, "Nikita" had 73 and "Beauty and the Beast" will have 70, for example.
