 Re: SUPERGIRL TV Series Thread
This show is so delightful and fun. I caught up on 4 episodes last night. And tonight's episode is a blast with the crossover. Loved the CW reference.
I still don't understand why DC is so stupid they didn't cast Grant Gustin in the movies. He's perfect for this role and so much better than whatever the fuck Ezra Miller was in BvS.
I hope Supergirl makes it over to the other shows at some point.

Cute crossover episode. GG was made for tv version of the Flash. He's love able. The DCU wants a flash with an edge. EM fits that better than GG.

We haven't seen how EM does in DCEU but I do think its good to have different people working on TV and movies because that way they won't sacrifice TV's funny tone for movies darker one.

Very nice crossover and the ending was really nice setup for next episode.

 Re: SUPERGIRL TV Series Thread
This has become my favorite of the Berlanti superhero shows. I thought the back half of the season was excellent and the finale was great. I love the characters and the dynamics between them, particularly between Kara and Alex. Also, Cat Grant is such a great character.

 Re: SUPERGIRL TV Series Thread
Yes! Cat Grant has really probably grown the most for me. But the Kara/Alex dynamic is the shows core, and Melissa/Chyler KILL it.

Rumors of this moving to the CW and reducing the budget.
Which is kinda expected, but still kinda sucky.

I'm glad it was renewed, but this will inevitably mean budget cuts so now I'm terrified Calista is going to leave. I would hate for that to happen, she's the best part of the show.

I'm glad it was renewed and The CW is way more of a natural fit for this than CBS ever was, but I too am very worried they'll no longer be able to afford Calista Flockhart. The Cat/Kara dynamic is unquestionably the best part of the show.

 Re: SUPERGIRL TV Series Thread
THR claims that Calista agreed to continue with the show in Vancouver. Must have been part of some contract negotiations.
David Harewood tweeted that the season 2 order by CW is 22 episodes.

David Harewood tweeted that the season 2 order by CW is 22 episodes. They'll probably film her for a day or so per episode and include travel back and forth.

 Re: SUPERGIRL TV Series Thread
Calista is expensive???? Ha? It's not like she's a big draw (maybe post Ally McBeal, but in this day and age?). She has given up on movie career. But kudos for her if she can demand big paycheck.

But kudos for her if she can demand big paycheck. I'm almost certain she's making well over $100k an episode (that's what Jesse L. Martin gets for "The Flash"). That's expensive for The CW, which typically pays most actors in the $40-50k range. She got $150k for "Brothers & Sisters" which wasn't that long ago.

Any idea what the leads of TVD are earning on The CW?

 Re: SUPERGIRL TV Series Thread
Ian was making $40k an episode in 2009-2010 when the show was just starting. I would imagine he's probably up to around $60k or so by now, they typically get bumped up 5% yearly without renegotiations. Him and Paul Wesley also direct a ton of episodes now which adds to their income.
The rest of the cast is probably still making around $40k or so an episode - they probably started at $20k or $25k since almost all of them were unknowns when it started.
Blake Lively was making around $80k per episode for "Gossip Girl" when it ended, just for reference.

Tom Welling was making close to $200k an episode in Smallville's final season.

yeah, they should get Welling, he's not doing anything and he still looks good.
My friend made me watch the pilot the other day. I guess I'll give the season a try, it seems harmless but idk.
