 "Girls" (Season 5)
The penultimate season is starting tonight and will have 10 episodes. The sixth and final season is slated to premiere next year. Watching the premiere right now.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
The premiere was good. I really wish the series did more with Marnie than having continuous shitty boyfriends (marrying the worst one yet) but eh.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
I love this season so far. It's really funny and melancholy at the same time. I loved the scene in last night's episode where Hannah FINALLY called Jessa out for being a terrible person and friend.
Also Elijah and Corey Stoll are adorable.

Fantastic episode last night. The last scene with Shoshanna was actually really well-done and melancholy, and the scene between Hannah and the yoga teacher was hilarious.
This is turning out to be one of the best seasons of the show yet.
Aidy Bryant was great too.

Tonight's episode was FANTASTIC. What a great performance from Allison Williams. And Christopher Abbott was quietly heartbreaking, crazy how different he was from the last time we saw him on the show.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
I really want to watch this episode again. It was incredibly powerful.
I think they are doing a really good job of humanizing a lot of the characters this year. It's crazy this isn't the last season because tonight would have seriously been a perfect Marnie sendoff.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
Allison Williams was great in the episode. She's come a long way from S1. The episode almost made up the fact she's had such crappy storylines the past 2 seasons.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
I thought it brought her character full circle from season 1. Sure, she's a spoiled, self-absorbed 20-something, but she's still a human and ultimately a fucked up one at that. This entire season's theme seems to be these characters getting their lives together and realizing they're growing up.

Ugh, that episode was so good. I can't stop thinking about it. And I loved the Ellie Goulding song they closed it with, which from what I understand was commissioned for the show.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
Another strong episode (though not as good as last week's, which may have been my favorite episode this season). I felt really bad for Hannah actually when she found out about Jessa/Adam.

Hannah is a fucking mess. I mean, all of them are really. Excited for the 2 episode finale though.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
This season was FLAWLESS.
This was easily my favorite season of the show so far. I would give serious Emmy consideration to Allison Williams, Lena Dunham, Zosia Mamet and Andrew Rannells in particular. Elijah's breakup scene with Corey Stoll was heartbreaking.
It's baffling that the best season of the show arguably flew under the radar with the least amount of buzz.

Also that finale made me unabashedly love Hannah after hating her a mere two episodes ago during her Fran breakup in the woods. That scene with her speech was amazing.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
Just finished the finale. This season was so good! I loved Jenny Slate's guest appearance so much.
And honestly, this was probably Lena Dunham's best season to date. Her story at The Moth was gorgeously rendered.

 Re: "Girls" (Season 5)
I rewatched the finale tonight and the speech scene was one of the best moments the show has ever done. Lena was brilliant.
