 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
The main problem with Heroes was it introduced too many characters and subplots. When they made thousands of people have powers, instead of focusing on its core group, to kill time they kept bringing in new boring randoms trying to carry their own storyline.
But I think the show to begin with was never more than solid B material or better than the True Blood level of sci fi/fantasy shows. Homeland went from one of the best first seasons I've seen to some of the worst tv I've ever seen by S3 (admittedly I quit after 4 eps)

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
"Heroes" also would never actually kill off any of its original actors because it thought they were 'fan favorites.' That's why Ali Larter showed up as like nine different characters and everyone who died ended up coming back to life somehow. It got so frustrating by the end, especially since they'd actually kill off characters that had potential like Monica from season 2.
Also, those twins. They were the worst.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Oh yeah, I forgot about them ruining the stakes of death. That and hot mess time travel logic were 2 tactical errors

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Time travel was one pof the biggest things that ruined "Heroes".

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
not really, two things killed it, the writers strike and then season 3. The abbreviated season 2 really wasn't that bad, maybe not as good as Season 1, but it created a compelling villain in Adam Munroe. Season 3 came, I had high hopes, but it started off slow. Then they killed off characters (Adam, and Kristen Bell's character), and then they brought in Robert Forster whose character was god awful. The second half of season 3 was worse, especially giving Mohinder powers. People left in droves by the end of season 3.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Season 2 pretty much sucked from the start. Sylar being alive and the twins were both lethal mistakes. Also Munroe was anything but a compelling villain.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
I thought Munroe was a pretty good villain. I forgot about the twins though. I didn't have a problem with Sylar being alive, but should have been killed by a more powerful villain at somepoint.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Either episode 3 in season 3 SUCKED, and people stopped watching, or everything after that just didn't look good. Because episode 4, season 3, is where is started its fall.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
They should've started the season with Peter's vision of apocalypse and build it from there. Basically everything before that (and that's 6 or 7 episode in a 10 episode season I think) is throwaway. Hiro in Japan also took forever. It could've been condensed in one good episode.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
I just remembered how they put all that money into the "Villains" ad campaign for season 3 and kept promising they learned from their mistakes in the second season, yet the whole arc ended up being such a non-event and so anticlimactic, and all the worst characters lived while they got rid of some who were actually likable.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
The only good thing they really added from season 2 onward was, in my opinion, Elle (Kristen Bell's character). She was interesting, had story potential, and Kristen Bell played her well. Everything else was just one massive mistake after another, though. Sylar being alive, briefly recasting and then killing (in a dumb way, because of her illusion power) Candice, killing Ali Larter's character but refusing to let her go. Killing Ali Larter's character's husband off-screen... the list goes on and on.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
I remember being legitimately infuriated when Sylar killed Elle because by that point I was ONLY watching for Kristen Bell's scenes and her storyline was the only one that was actually interesting.

Remember that godawful storyline where Hiro started acting like a baby or something? God this show.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Here's the thing: the idea of Heroes is almost without limitations. There are too many places to go. It was Tim Kring that took the show to the wrong places. Constantly.
Also, having their ultimate goal be to "save mankind" is pointless. It's way too broad. It's too ambitious.
Having said that, the trailer looks awesome. It gives me all kinds of hope. And if the show could do nothing else, it could always come up with great taglines. "Where Are The Heroes?" is aces.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
That scene near the start where Chuck (he's always Chuck to me) offs everyone in the room, it should have been some of the originals he killed. Would have been an awesome start to the show, to basically distinguish between past and present.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Apparently everything from the original series is canon though and almost everything there was a mess.
I bet they are doing everything they can to get Milo and Hayden back for at least a guest spot by the end of the run.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
I liked Season 1-2 and the Villain half of three. The fugitive half was like watching paint dry and I didn't bother with 4.
LOST I only watched the last 3 seasons, and they were great.

Bringing the originals back? Oh dear.
Heroes S1 was good but it probably benefitted from less shows to compare it to.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
I got a screener of the premiere and watched the first episode this morning. It was dire. At one point one of the main characters seriously becomes a fucking video game character.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
That's unfortunate but expected. Unless someone else is in charge besides Tim Kring, this was bound to lose.

Also, because of course this show can never actually kill anyone off, it's revealed in the second hour that Claire (who they say is dead in the first episode) is actually alive.

Claire's status is listed as "unknown." So it sets it up if she does end up returning.

 Re: HEROES REBORN BITCHES
Unknown = if Claire's stay in Nashville lasts longer than Heroes remains Reborn, then she's dead.
