Wow, Lakers may indeed be bottom 5 of the league. Speedy recovery to Randle..

I knew there was something suspicious about Rondo. Damnit Larry, you can't just go around switching bodies with people.

Well that sucked... I know Miami lost their first game, but they were playing a good team, not the 2014 Knicks.

Good god. Westbrook with a broken hand. Durant with a broken foot. McGary with a broken foot.
Unbelievable.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Based on the handful of games this far, the Celtics could be kinda good if they were even the tiniest of good on defense. Giving up an average of 109 (not including the 100+ they'll wind up giving up to the Raptors by the end of tonight) points a night wouldn't have even been good in the 80s when the game was more fastbreak oriented.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
The Cavs have played two and a half quarters of competent basketball over the last two games... I hope they can keep the defensive energy they had near the end of the Utah game. It's still a tough loss though. The Heat had three wins, two of them blowouts, by now. The Cavs look lifeless for long stretches, the bench is abysmal, and Dion Waiters is absolutely useless in this new system. The offense will surely turn around, but I'm worried about the chemistry of this team. I really hope the Cavs didn't sacrifice Wiggins only to have Kevin Love bolt after one bad year.
In more positive news, I think the Grizz have a good chance at getting to 10-0. Their next five are OKC, Milkwaukee, LA Lakers, Sacramento (might be good?) and Detroit before getting to the also potentially undefeated Rockets. That would be a hell of a game!

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
The problem with the Cavs is their lack of passing. Which I don't know if that can be solved.

Oh and 27 turnovers doesn't help much either.

This Lakers season is hilarious, Kobe already at 28 shots midway through the 3rd quarter

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
9-2!
Dodged so many bullets to get to this point. Colangelo signing Nash probably would've ruined it all, wouldn't have traded for Lowry, would've been GM for a while longer effing up the team. Lowry like a day away from getting traded to the Knicks last year but James Dolan blocked it. Sacramento's crazy owner wanting to trade for Rudy Gay.
Team still needs work, can't really compete for a 1st/2nd seed with Ross and Valanciunas as 2 of the 5 starters and Derozan doesn't fit the best in a 3s/defense instead of midrange shooting era, but 50 W season and 2nd round is the goal this year.
Also it's hilarious Kyle Lowry got the same contract as Kemba Walker and Alec Burks this summer. Same with Patterson making less than dudes like Marvin Williams...

Anthony Davis is just insane and single-handedly making Pelicans competitive.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Man that's a bad loss for CLE. Guess the list of finalists who've gotten pasted that badly at home in a reg season game, is pretty small. Teams like WAS and ATL have a legit shot of making the Finals.
Raps 20-6 and the rest of the schedule is one of the easiest in the league bc of the rest of the division being Boston, Brooklyn, New York and Philly.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Know it's still early, but we could be easily looking at Spurs/Thunders being the 7th and 8th seeds by the season's end. The Western conference playoff is going to be insane again this year.

Durant drops 30 in the first half... and then hurts his ankle. GREAT.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Glad the Celtics got something for Rondo. I'm also glad that the three years of speculating whether he'd be traded or not are finally over.
1-0 in the Marcus Smart led Celtics era!

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Are the Hawks a contender? They've won in Cleveland, in Houston, in Dallas and at home vs Chicago in the last week. They would have also have a 14 game winning streak if not for a one point loss in Orlando, on a home and home back to back.

They have the second best points differential in the conference as well.

 Re: NBA 2012-13 Season
Yeah that's what I meant. I still think my Cavs are going to the finals, but it's certainly no lock that they'll even make it past the 2nd round. And the Bulls are the same way. If ever there was a year for Toronto, Washington or Atlanta to break through it has to be this one.

Whupped by the 6-23 Pistons. The Cavs have hit a new low. It's so Cleveland to put together a mediocre super team.
